Excellent!!!! FANTASTIC FISH AND SHRIMP! My shrimp was huge, the catfish had sucha wonderful mild taste, not that strong fishy taste. Our sides were delicious. Okra, mashed potatoes, slaw, fry bread and green beans were ALL great. The owners are so nice and its so homey and cozy there. Pne of our favorites!

South side of Bixby. Look close or you’ll drive right past. Small restaraunt with rustic interior. Good variety on menu. We got the catfish. Very tasty and the hushpuppy (you get 1) was good. Decent service and pricing. Local fireman eat there, so .

We have all been there, a family picnic or a pot luck cook out and someone brings a common side dish that would be expected; appropriate for the meal. However, that well-meaning individual modifies the dish with their “creative” spin, using some bizarre seasoning or ingredient. It tastes weird and you are stuck with a big dallop of it on your paper plate, because you wanted to be polite. Now you are looking for that pesky Labrador Retriever, that will eat anything. Or hope that you can get the plate folded up and stuffed in the garbage can, before that person notices your dislike of their creative effort. You got the picture.

The coleslaw served at The Lazy Fisherman is that very side dish, I just described. Strangest tasting damn slaw, I have ever had. I was unable to figure out what in the heck the secret ingredient was that they used to bring out that amazingly weird taste. No. I didn’t like it. The rest of the meal…. Catfish was average, beans bland, onion rings and fried okra mediocre. Mediocre also describes the service.

If you are out looking for a place to dine and happen to drive by The Lazy Fisherman….do it!…drive by.
If you decide to eat there, you’ll need a to-go box for your Labrador

Not one thing on my plate was bad. Good fried texture, soft on the salt and pepper (personal preference) crunchy slaw and shoestring onion rings. This place hits all notes with the guilty pleasures of fried catfish.

Hush Puppy Heaven! The Lazy Fisherman in Bixby, OK is one of our favorite local eating spots! Catfish, Fried Livers, Beans n Cornbread! Awesome Desserts! A southern fella’s dream! Kids love it!
They’re just south of 161st and Memorial Dr / Hwy 64, just north of the curve.
I’ve been eating at this place for over 25 years! Never walked out disappointed!

OK, just got this two piece catfish meal brown boring beans and some fresh coleslaw with no flavor and I think about the whole meal it’s no seasoning and the catfish supposedly I don’t know. I didn’t taste too much like catfish but anyways it was talked about so I tried it When I tried again no but I guess sometimes people have to experience it first not disappointed, but also not too impressed.

This place is why I would describe as “hole in the wall perfect”. Small, family owned, and amazing. It’s the type of place that should be packed with locals every day. Real chicken fried steak, fresh catfish, home made everything, simple wonderful place to eat.

The fish, slaw, hush puppies, and fries were great. Really on point. Pinto Beans lacked flavor and were watery.
