Stopped by for a late lunch around 3:30 on a Sunday. There was plenty of seating available when we arrived, but it started to fill up quickly.

The service was great, we were greeted and seated promptly.

Food was good, but the beans and rice were lacking a bit of flavor.

The guacamole was decent, seemed like there was more tomato and onions than avocado.

The horchatas are huge, this was probably the first time I didn’t finish my drink.

Overall, it was good, not great. I still haven’t found really good Mexican food in OKC, but this place would rank at the top of my lists.

Love this little spot downtown…. great location for preshow/game eats. Food is always delicious, and atmosphere is fun and festive. Service was great! Try the sour apple margarita! So good!

Fantastic food and plenty of it! Good atmosphere and friendly service! The wife has claimed it as a new favorite when we are in downtown area and I must agree! May even have to find reasons to come in OKC more often

While the portions were generous (I could only finish half of my steak burrito), the meal itself didn’t quite deliver a memorable “wow” factor. My primary concern, however, was with our server’s visible illness. Though she was courteous and did her best, her persistent cold or flu symptoms, including sniffing and blowing her nose, made me very uncomfortable as a health-conscious diner. I believe it’s crucial for those handling food and drink to not work while sick. I’m giving three stars to reflect the positive aspects while hoping this feedback encourages important operational improvements for this promising new restaurant.

One of the best, if only, options for Mexican in downtown OKC. Only ever go for lunch specials but always been impressed at the speed of their service even during the lunch rush. Some dishes are definitely better than others but the portion sizes, even on the lunch, are always enough. Prices are good. Staff friendly.

Authentic Mexican food. I would have been a complete 5 Stars but I am a Tex-Mex guy. My wife loves authentic Mexican food. We balance each other out LOL. The environment are laid back, relaxed, and a authentic Mexican fiesta style of energy. I recommend you give them a try. Local business, friendly team, authentic Mexican food, queso, salsa, etc. 5 stars for fajitas. The salsa & queso are authentic Mexican style. The salsa and queso are authentic style. This means fresh and homemade daily. Queso is thinner than the type served in chain owned restaurants. This means it is prepared daily using the Lazy Donkey’s own recipe. I admit I like the thicker, Tex-Mex style Queso like “On the Border”. My wife however prefers the thinner, authentic Mexican style queso & loved the Lazy Donkey.

This place has a great vibe, and it was my first time going there. I had the pineapple bowl with steak and shrimp, it was De-lish! If you are in the area, I highly recommend you give The Lazy Donkey a try!!

Food was fresh and tasty. The rice was good, taco salad holders were fresh with a great crisp. Fair prices and they also had a giant horchata. Enchilada sauces were all tasty. Overall good experience and would come back!

What a very good mexican restaurant place right in the heart of downtown of Oklahoma City.
The waitresses are always prepared, even know i got confused on most of the time on what they are saying when I was taking my orders, because I’m not good on my Spanish, but they are know what they are doing for customer service, especially they are very helpful on speaking Spanish as well.
My food was very delicious, especially the cheese queso sauce, but be careful on getting it, because it will charge you $5 extra, but anyways, I had a good time eating over there at the lazy donkey Mexican restaurant and it’s a must-visit and eat place before you are walking downtown of OKC. No matter if you’re are going out, like see a Oklahoma City Thunder Game

Just passing through! Wish we lived close enough to return often! Modelo served in a frosted glass -lime rimmed. The guacamole starter was made fresh with cilantro onion and tomato. Street tacos and street elote were very good. 5 stars for food quality!! Staff is friendly and attentive- 5 stars for service!
The restuarant and restrooms are thoroughly clean– 5 stars for cleanliness!
