Not only is the owner a super cool guy but the food is fantastic. Smash Burger, Cubano and Brisket were all excellent. And the fries are always great. The Terranaut/The Landing collab is

Yummy bbq selection! We had the “dirty fries” with burnt ends. Delicious and filling app for 2 people! Barrels to stand and eat at, a bike rack, and chairs outside the brewery as well to grab a drink at while you eat.

We tried The Landing on Friday night, the pulled pork sandwich sounded good to me and they had a kids burger and fries that my 4 year old wanted. When I ordered, I asked them about the buns they used for the burger because my son has a food allergy to sesame and many buns have sesame flour in them. While I was asking what kind of buns they used, I didn’t get my full sentence out and the guy taking my order cut me off and said “no sesame”. The abrasiveness kind of stopped me in my tracks and I said okay and paid.

It didn’t sit well because I understand not everyone knows that even if there isn’t sesame seeds ON the bun in might be lurking in the ingredients- and as a restaurant, that should be taken seriously. He brushed me off even when I told him it was a child’s food allergy. When I told my husband what happened and that I felt uneasy about it, he said he would go make sure. He went and talked to the same guy and again was completely brushed off yet again. My husband specifically asked him if he could see the bun package just for peace of mind to double check the ingredients. The guy grabbed the buns and read the ingredients and again said “no sesame”. My husband saw that they were Franz brand which we know through years of dealing with this allergy that Franz almost always has sesame flour. My husband asked to see the package and sure enough in the ingredients it said in bold print CONTAINS: SESAME. My husband showed him and there was no apology or acknowledgement that that could have caused a serious health emergency, just said he could wrap it in lettuce instead.

Thankfully we know to advocate for our kid, but it was super disappointing that The Landing was so unwilling to take the proper (and simple) step of just checking the ingredients the first time I asked, to ensure they wouldn’t feed an allergen to a child. I’m not sure why it was such a big deal, seemed very unnecessary and left just such a bad taste in my mouth. The food was good; my son loved his lettuce wrapped burger, but it did take about 35-40 minutes to get our food.

Going forward I would suggest taking food safety seriously and listening when people mention an allergy. Doing a simple check of ingredients is SO worth the 5 seconds than causing potential harm to someone.

The Brisket sandwich was really good. Perfectly toasted on the inside of the bun. The meat was moist and flavorful. I will be coming back.

My boyfriend and I tried this spot for the first time and it was so tasty! We ordered the pulled pork sandwich and burnt ends sandwich with the intent of sharing with each other but I failed miserably at sharing the burnt ends sandwich because I just couldn’t put it down. I did get a bite of the pulled pork and it was also very delicious. Service was fast and friendly. Will definitely be going back.

I went to Holiday party potluck expecting to eat and to my surprise there was NO food they tried there best to save with pizza but sadly it went fast. I was taking it Natalie who share that she and her husband rent opened a bbq food truck. As she described in detail the way the burnt end wee made and how they put them on top of fries I was SOLD . I could not wait for the party to end. I gathered a few hungry fiends and we went straight for the truck.
The line was fast and I ordered from her handsome husband and let me just say the burnt ends on top of fries were AMAZING. The sauce and tenderness of that meat reminded of being kissed for the first time …..lol
My pulled pork was just as good and I will be trying that next time along with the fries.
A MUST HAVE !
