We stopped in for lunch at Water Pig BBQ. We had seen it last year on our vacation but didn’t try it. Our lunch was great! The restaurant sits on the Bay. Great views of the water. Lots of boats for entertainment if you want to watch them. Our server was very nice & did a good job. We tried the Brisket & The Carolina Pork plates. For the sides, we ordered Baked Beans & Potato Salad. All the food is made fresh on site we were told. They have iced Tea. We enjoyed our experience. We will be happy to visit them again another trip. You should go visit too.

It was great! We had the chance to taste all different types of dishes and they were all fantastic. The service provided by the waiters was also superb and the atmosphere is beach-relaxed. I absolutely recommend going here since it is a unique spot. Loved it and can’t wait to go back!

We found the Water Pig BBQ to be a really neat place for lunch. The atmosphere is great, wide open and right on the beach. A really nice breeze blows through the building enhancing the experience. Our food was very good, authentic barbecue with a Carolina style. Our server was very friendly and very attentive. A really nice spot to eat.

Food was decent. We got the brisket sandwiches & mac and cheese. I wish I had gotten plain brisket! They actually had brisket this time when we went so that was good. The Mac and cheese was bland. Nothing to rave about.

Our waitress was great. Always checking on us. The atmosphere was quiet and outside bay vibes. I wish they had some soft beach music! If you like a super chill and very quiet atmosphere this is for you.

I wasn’t super impressed thus the 3/5 stars. It’s not bad, but it’s not my first choice. They are usually out of something. This time they were out of daiquiris.

Excellent St. Louis ribs, nice servers that where very knowledgeable. Nice views along the water at the far end of the seating. Good free parking in front of the restaurant for this touristy area where parking can be a challenge. Very appreciated. Nice atmosphere but can get a little chilli later on in the day with the breeze off the water but nothing a flannel shirt couldn’t take care of in October. I’ll be back if I’m in the area again.

Stopped in for a bite at this BBQ spot and wasn’t disappointed. The atmosphere is exactly what you’d hope for—laid-back, coastal, and perfect after a long day in the sun.

I tried the pulled pork sandwich and while it wasn’t life-changing, it definitely hit the spot. Tender enough, with a decent smoky flavor and just the right amount of topping. The bun held up well (always a plus), and the side of slaw added a nice crunch. The Mexican street corn was the highlight of the meal.
Service was friendly, music was chill, and the gulf breeze didn’t hurt either. Great place to relax and grab a cold beer.

Out at Water Pig BBQ on Pensacola Beach, lunch ain’t some sad little afterthought they threw together to please folks in pastel polos — it’s a damn full-blown event, the kind where you show up hungry and leave needing a nap and a life coach. This place squats right up against the sand like it owns the shoreline, and honestly, it kinda does.

They built Water Pig with one idea in mind: make the kind of barbecue that don’t just taste good — it wrecks your whole plan for the day. Low and slow smoking, no shortcuts, no apologies. Open-air seating, Gulf breeze whipping your napkins off the table, and a smoker out back belching hickory-sweet promises into the sky. That’s the vibe.

Now, let’s talk about why we’re really here — the Brisket Barbacoa Tacos. When they hit the table, they ain’t playing around. You get two classic street tacos, built honest and simple: a heavy-handed pile of slow-cooked brisket barbacoa, so tender it basically apologizes to your teeth for making them do any work. They top it with diced onion and fresh-cut cilantro — none of that sad, wilty garnish nonsense — and drop a lime wedge on the side, like they know you’re gonna need a little acid to cut through the glorious meat tsunami you’re about to unleash.

And because Water Pig understands the way normal, decent folks eat, they don’t hand you a couple of tacos and call it a day. No, sir. They toss in a side of golden, crispy-ass tater tots — little crunchy miracles that ought to come with a warning label about how addictive they are.

You sit there, toes in the sand, brisket juice drippin’ down your wrist, poppin’ tots like you’re at a high-stakes carnival — and for a few sweet, smoky moments, you forget about calories, beach bods, or whatever dumb plan you had to “just grab a light snack.”

Water Pig don’t do light snacks. They do barbecue. And they do it like they mean it.

We tried a few items from the menu, ribs, brisket sandwich, and loaded tators. This place has a good view of the bay and it has a cover above so it like you eating outside. Service was a little slow but overall we had a good visit.

The food was the best BBQ we’ve ever had and we’ve had a lot at different places in different states over the years!! Too bad we don’t live in Pensacola Beach but then again maybe that’s a good thing, lol. The food portions are very generous so be ready to share! The views and atmosphere were amazing! The staff was awesome, especially our server Luke! He was such an awesome young man, very attentive but not bothersome. He was so nice, answered our questions and was very helpful!! This place is absolutely a MUST if you’re in Pensacola Beach!!!!

My husband and I were headed to Red Fish Blue Fish when we pulled into the parking lot however, the smell of BBQ lured us to Water Pig. Ate on a Saturday mid October around noon. We were surprised to see very few cars in the parking lot. Upon arrival we were greeted by a cheerful waitress. We ordered Carolina pulled pork and Texas Brisket sandwiches. We both agreed the Brisket was the better of the 2. It was delicious as were the sweet and savory pickle slices that came with it. The tater tots (standard with the sandwich) were ok but had stayed in the cooker just a tad too long. Hubby had a beer and I had water. Tip and all was around $50 ($39 for food). Great water view with covered outdoor seating. If you’re in the area give it a try.
