We parked the boat at the ramp and sat in the bar area. The guy there was awesome and so friendly! We just got a couple apps and some wine. We tried the crab dip because he said it was a favorite. It was pretty delicious. I discovered it was great with cocktail sauce on top of it. A little tip to try.

Good food and service. I also like that the location is almost right by the water. I had the burger with bacon and a fried egg. The fried egg was cooked perfectly so the center was runny, just as it should be on a burger. I’ll have to try the salad bar next time. It had a lot of variety and was very fresh looking!

This was our first time eating at The Lamplighter. Our server Lori was great. She was very friendly and attentive and I would give her 5 stars. There was plenty of light. The colors were fresh and the dining area was clean. I ordered the Hot crab dip as an appetizer. I liked the flavor, but presentation lacked a little and it could have used a little more salt and it was a little big for an appetizer but I shared. My husband ordered mozarella sticks with ranch and marinara which were both good in flavor. Our son got the Buffalo wings and he really liked them. Everything was hot and seemed fresh cooked. Our entrees consisted of Build your own chicken sandwich which our son liked since he added lots of stuff to it . The hamburger steak my husband ordered was cooked well but it could have used more seasoning as well the brown gravy. I ordered the blackened chicken Alfredo. The chicken was a little dry, but the Alfredo sauce took care of that. The pasta was cooked perfect for me and the portion was a good size. After asking for salt and pepper (which I understand because of the pandemic was given to us in packets) the flavor improved. We didnt have to wait too long for anything. I have had better food, but I have had much worse food. And I should mention the Key Lime Pie and the Cheesecake were fabulous. In thinking about would I eat here again, maybe, but I would try something different.

Great little restaurant with a variety of choices on the menu. Brianna gave excellent service and great suggestions. Catfish, crab dip, and sweet tea were great. Atmosphere was ok. Location is very convenient to downtown and lodging. Ample parking.

Came here for both dinner and breakfast the next day. Food and staff are sensational. Definitely felt like I was at my local spot in South Carolina. I’ll be back.

Excellent telephone customer service when taking our order. All the food was excellent. The fried pickles with spicy sauce, crispy chicken, hamburger steak, and crispy onions were great. The potato soup was one of the best potato soups we have ever had. Delicious! We will order another bowl before leaving town!

Waitress was nice and polite but did not much about menu items. Ordered fried catfish and sweet potato my wife ordered chicken salad croissant and sweet potato. We were informed that our sweet potatoes were giving to someone else and that it would take an additional 30 minutes to cook another. We chose other sides. The catfish look great was nice and crispy on the outside but very mushy on the inside and not very appetizing at all. My wife’s chicken salad croissant had no flavor at all and the chicken seamed tp be pasty . Was overall very disappointed because a friend who had stayed at the motel had recommended it.

Made reservations for a Valentine’s date and was not disappointed! We had the catfish bites for an appetizer and they were very tender and delicious! The ribeye steak that I had was perfectly cooked at medium. Everything was delicious!!! The waitress was really good, checking in on us often! I definitely recommend this place!

Couldn’t have asked for a better evening. I called ahead and let them know we were boating in (a nice easy 45 minute cruise from near the dam) and asked if there would be any type of a dress code, etc. A very friendly voice on the other end stated, “You are welcome to “flip flop” on in.” She also took my reservation for 8 people. We arrived about 25 minutes early (on a Friday night) and they quickly readied a table for us. As we were sitting down one of the waitresses walking by said “I recognize your voice.. I talked to you a little while ago and took your reservation” with a big smile on her face. We were seated and ordered. Kaitlyn (sp?) was our waitress and she was extremely friendly and helpful. Appetizers: Catfish Bites and Crab Dip. Both were very good. Entrees: Combination seafood platters (Fried shrimp and fried flounder & Fried Oysters and blacked catfish), Hawaiian chicken, Friend Oysters, & Fried shrimp. They were all cooked well, came out hot, and quickly.
