We stopped into The Knuckle Saloon with no expectations, thinking we’d get your typical bar food—but we were seriously impressed!

First off, the service was fantastic. Friendly, fast, and attentive, even with how busy the place was. There’s also a lot going on—pool tables, a gift shop, and a really fun atmosphere that gives you more than just a meal.

Now to the food. The cheese curds were perfectly crispy on the outside, gooey on the inside, and honestly some of the best I’ve ever had.

We also ordered the beef tips, which were tender and generous in portion, though just a bit on the salty side. The burger was a hit—juicy, flavorful, and cooked just right.

If you’re anywhere near Sturgis, The Knuckle is absolutely worth the stop for great food, great service, and a good time.

Whenever I’m near Sturgis I stop and eat here. Their beef tips are the bomb…. unbreaded are the best anywhere. Sweet tea perfect today as usual. Thanks bundles.

I hate that I am having to write this, as I have always loved the Knuckle just as much as the next kid who grew up here. However, I gave my review on a Facebook post earlier, and I was met with anything but concern or attentiveness. After looking to see what 4 people liked my comment, I was met with finding out that I had been blocked from the page entirely. If they would have met that comment with the kindness that our Sturgis people are used to, I would not be writing this. Instead, I figured they must have wanted a formal Google review for everyone who is headed their way, instead of just their Facebook followers.
While some of these positive reviews are during this ownership, many are from the past owners before new ownership. My review is not on the food, or the service, but on the way that I witnessed a long-time former employee get treated. After making a Facebook post referencing the price gouging that is done during Rally, an ex-employee was publicly humiliated on Facebook by the account “The Knuckle Saloon”, telling her how much better the place is without her and that her service was below par (this is a long-time loved Sturgis woman who had worked there for years). There was even a point where her partner commented about the bad service he received, and they responded that it was likely because she was probably his waitress. How rude.
Fast-forward to today, when The Knuckle Saloon page posted asking for suggestions for their business. I posted the situation above and exclaimed that I would be more likely to go back if I knew that people were being treated with respect. Instead of giving a response that takes accountability, apologizing, or even a response at all – I was blocked. After the first post from rally, multiple locals were blocked if they gave a negative review. The new owners just delete negative reviews and hide from them as opposed to taking the constructive criticism that was asked for by them in order to improve their business.
I was simply disgusted by the ability for the owner of a business, especially a new guy in town who should be trying to settle into the ways of our town and make friends, could openly treat others like that. Then, to not even take accountability for their actions.. THAT is not what we want in our town. I’m not sure how they treat people back home, but we don’t treat people like that around here.
Needless to say, our group of 10-15 past-regulars will not be back for some of our favorite dinners. Also, I would like to recieve my food within an hour of which I ordered it next time, and for my boyfriend’s sandwich to come with the bun. Thank you.

P.S. Just so you know, we know not everyone is perfect. No need to delete the negative comments and things that you don’t want to hear, just use that information to improve. I hope that you become open to receiving constructive criticism in the future, as it can be one of the most important tools in running a business.

The food was ok, nothing special but tasted great. The atmosphere is fun inside with all the memorabilia, games, and great drink selection. Awesome service, it just gets crazy around lunch and later at night.

We (my family with little kids) came here for lunch for a Sturgis-lite vibe. Lots of kitchy antiques outside the entrance. Lots of beers. Friendly staff. Small casino/slot machine area which seems pretty common in South Dakota.

Our waitress offered suggestions including off menu ones! (steak tips on the kids menu, queso on the tater tots and others). This really makes me feel like we’re getting the best experience the place can offer and that they take pride in their offerings!

Mac and cheese bites. Cheese curds. Smoked Gouda Bites. Steak tips. Garage burger (bacon and pepperjack) Lots of amazing looking sandwiches. Huge long bar across the back.

Unlike another reviewer, I was not charged 4% or any premium for a credit card.

Good food. Smaller portion size of fries. Beef tips could have been less chewy and had more onions and mushrooms. It still tasted great. 4 star for portion size.

Delicious food! It seemed pretty busy when we went but our appetizer and beers showed up within 5 minutes of ordering them and our server was awesome. The main food came out very quickly after we finished the appetizer, and the staff seemed like they were working very well as a team. Wasn’t disappointed with anything during our experience!

I had the famous steak tips, buffalo bleu cheese style, with sweet potato fries. Everything was delicious and perfectly cooked. The portion size was generous and fairly priced. Our waitress was polite and attentive. If you are in the mood for classic American food, this is a great option!
