Had dinner at the Klondike Tavern in St. Helens and it was exceptional from start to finish – I’m talking really, really good. I ordered the pasta bolognese and a seasonal lemon drop, and both were genuinely the best I’ve ever had.

The bolognese was rich and perfectly balanced, with deep, slow-cooked flavor and pasta cooked exactly right. Every bite felt thoughtful and well executed. The lemon drop was just as impressive — bright, fresh, and not overly sweet, with a clean citrus finish that made it hard not to order another.

The atmosphere strikes that ideal balance of relaxed and refined, and the service was attentive with a splash of “feels like home.” Everything was clearly itemized on our bill, and there were no surprises. It’s clear they care about quality and providing a complete dining experience beyond a great plate of food.

Large portions, delicious food, well-made cocktails, solid service, and a unique setting compelled us to tip handsomely. It was a great experience. If you are in St. Helens, this place is worth your time. I’ll absolutely be back. We left genuinely impressed!

Everyone at the tavern was so delightful. I got to talk to them about the history of the building, which was once a brothel way back in the day. The homemade ranch and parmesan garlic fries were incredible. I was there for happy hour and I highly recommend it! They have an extensive menu that changes multiple times a year depending on the season so you know the ingredients are in season. This place is a delight!

Excellent food and even better service! We were here on Monday for all day happy hour. Delicious truffle fries and Brussels sprouts, the cauliflower soup blew my mind, and my husband adored his chicken wings (one of his favorite foods, he’s a connoisseur). Had friendly chats with our server even though he was busy. Will be happy to come back!
My only complaint is that the fragrance in the bathroom was so strong it literally made my eyes sting. I suggest to management that they change the settings.

I came in expecting small town pub restaurant fair and was really blown away by the quality of the food, drinks and service. I came during the month of October, and all their specialty cocktails were fall themed and were delicious & beautifully presented. Highly recommend!

If you’re in town…this is the place to eat for sure!

A couple friends drove me up from Portland, while I was in town and it did not disappoint!

Service was amazing from start to finish! Our actual server was absolutely adorable and made us feel like we were all buddies. Lots of fun quips and jokes and just a great overall attitude.

We got the butternut squash grilled cheese and it was so tasty! We got two because one friend wasn’t very hungry, but she wound up nibbling on both of ours and really enjoyed it.

Don’t sleep on the cocktails because everything we had was a bop, and even the one non-alcoholic toasted marshmallow lemonade was amazing!
If they have it, definitely get the razzle dazzle if you like something with a kick.

I would love to come back the next time I’m in town, if my friends are willing to go back to St Helens for the day.

Our bill was $157 for three adults and three kids. We were considered a small group though I have young children. Because I was considered a group I was forced to pay a $25.50 tip. A tip has to be earned. You cannot force someone to pay something that must be earned. What if the service was garage? We did have to send the steak back to be cooked more. I would have been comfortable with $10 tip but $25 is ridiculous. There was also $4.46 service charge, what? $29.96 in charges I was forced to pay. The food was a C- and this is the most expensive meal I have had in St. Helen’s. The service was fine. The atmosphere was demon stuff which is another reason why we will never return. If the meal was $75 it would of been too high. $157 is highway robbery. Make sure you tell people you are forcing a tip on them before they sit down to eat. Kind of an important piece of information there.

If you are looking for a fancy cocktail in Columbia County, this is the place! Great lemon drop and great old fashions. Bar tenders are very knowledgably about what they are pouring. Food is good. Menu changes every so often. Shorter and gluten free menu during Halloween Town.

This place is magical! We came here for our anniversary a few weeks ago and we had the best time. The staff were extra thoughtful and took the time to make sure we felt welcome.

The food was delicious, highly recommend the pork cheeks or the beef tenderloin.

The specialty cocktails are top notch. Can’t go wrong with any of them. We tried three different cocktails.

We had just a great time we came back for Halloween Town! A magical and haunting experience. This place is haunted, ask the staff about the haunting!

This restaurant was spectacular! Firstly, a meal out is made it broken by the server, that being said James made me feel at home and like a long lost friend. He was attentive, very knowledgeable about the menu, and the history of the location, including the haunting!
So honestly, they had me locked in with a choice and favorite beer on tap, Old Rasputin Russian Stout, on Nitro!
I looked at the appetizers and almost ordered, but then I saw the dessert and dessert cocktail menu. Nope, I was saving room. I had the Short Ribs served over Lemon, Pea Rissoto. The Rissoto was cooked to perfection, just the right amount of everything, the perfect toothiness, just a hint of lemon, but the Short Ribs were pure bliss, fork tender, full of flavor, if I had room I would have ordered another plate!
For dessert, I choose the Milk Dud Old Fashioned, feeling like an affectionado of Old Fashionds (I usually go extra extra bitter, no a little more bitters, please) this was perfect and a not so sweet treat!
Out of 10, they get a solid 20!

The cocktails are INCREDIBLE!! The food is just as amazing!!! Pictured here is the scrumptious Blackberry Lemon Drop and The Melt (other half was already devoured). Kim the Leader of this restaurant is attentive, sweet, goes the extra mile. James is equally at attentive and kind! MUST TRY!
