Staying in the hotel, when checking in, the nice person at the front desk showed the menu, proudly. Knowing it was pricey, I still decided to order. Terrible choice, food undercooked, tater tots raw. Chickens strips cold and can still see the breading. Disgusting. Do better.

An average sleepy bar on the ground level of Drury hotel, where I’m staying, with outdoor tables and a fire place. It’s pleasant, industrial, clean line.
Molten Chocolate lava cake is promoted everywhere in the hotel, so I went for it. It’s one of few desserts that I like, … and I even tried to make it. Knowing nothing about baking (is not a crime, right?), of course I failed. Actually little Irene likes the lava more, so melting the chocolate in the ramekin becomes her or my thing or ‘lave cake’ when in the mood.
I ordered take out because I want to have it in my little patio, and asked for real utensils. It was nicely packed but with a plastic spoon. I went to the bar again and got two spoons: both could use some polish.
The cake is disappointing: NO lava. Oh well.

We stayed at the Drury Inn and Suites during our visit to Santa Fe, NM this week. The primary hotel bar/restaurant at the Drury is Kitchen + Bar, which we visited twice. It’s a very nice space, modern and airy, and a well stocked bar. The staff is friendly and pour great drinks. The Santa Fe after Five was pretty darn good. The only food we had was a couple of tacos, the brisket with green chilis and the el pastor. Both were good, but we’d have to give the edge to the brisket taco, it was very good. We cannot vouch for anything else on the menu, what we had was nice.

Having travelled many many places, I have rarely seen staff go after an autistic woman, sitting alone, minding her business waiting for a menu. Never surprising to me see our own people go after the professional autistic woman for not engaging them. If you like good service or products: Run in the opposite direction. I was called rude, because I asked for a menu three times in 35 minutes. Great behavior in this economy. Again, if you value decency or basic respect: RUN, in the other direction.

August 24, 2024: Easy to get a table, the Pizza was EXCELLENT and the prices are reasonable. Has outdoor seating with . Staff couldn’t have been nicer, and this restaurant is good for folks who want to hang out, as well as being an easy stop for families. I had the Veggie Pizza, SW version of course, highly recommend! Bottom floor of Drury Hotel on the Plaza.

Good food at reasonable prices. They also have an unadvertised happy hour with desserts at half price. We didn’t order a lot of food because we ate upstairs on the 2nd floor.

AVOID
Underdressed, wilted “Caesar salad.” Hamburgers swimming in watery sauce. Undercooked frozen tater tots out of a bag. Basically a dive bar menu poorly executed. Imposing waiter wastes half an hour of our time whining about the restaurant business (depressing!). Ambience is faux “modern,” very cold. wonder how they stay in business with their empty dining room, unless they’re doing a take-out business which one doubts somehow. Very unprofessional.
