Came to have lunch with family and shop at the farmers market. We love dining outdoors. You just find a table, review the menu, go to the cashier and order and pay for your food. Servers will deliver food at your table. Service was quick. Staff are friendly. We had the Parmesan fries. So delicious. The salad was so refreshing. The pizzas were very tasty. The crust is so good. The pasta is flavorful. We were very pleased.

I have such mixed feelings about this place. It’s in a beautiful spot and I wanted to love it. But it’s so expensive for what it is, and their absolute refusal to make any changes, even when they are not busy, frustrates me to no end. All I asked was for a simple cheese swap on a salad because I have an allergy to one kind of cheese. They refused to do it. My only option? No cheese. Despite the salad costing almost $30. I think in the future we will plan on visiting the Bernardo winery but skipping the restaurant and eating elsewhere. Honestly just not worth the time and money. I think this is a really solid example of how putting a little effort into better customer service makes a big difference to patrons. I left feeling annoyed and overcharged instead of good about the experience.

The winery itself is wonderful. The Kitchen, however, is pretty lousy. Had the margarita pizza- which has great dough, but everything else, very poor in quality and taste. Also had the formaggi pasta, which was really quite terrible. It was a thick, dry pasta with nearly non-existent sauce, that was pre-prepared and waiting on the side. Tasted likely absolutely bland and plain boiled noodles. Could not even see, yet alone taste, any kind of cheese or sauce. Pretty hefty prices as well for the quality of food. Visit the winery, have some wine, enjoy the ambience, but stay away from the kitchen except for a cheese board.

What a great restaurant at the Bernardo Winery. It’s the perfect place to meet up with friends for lunch before walking around the cute winery and do some shopping in the boutiques on site.
There are lots of outdoor tables to choose from and most are shaded. It opens at 11am and it was busy soon after. We went on a weekday too.
You can get wines from the tasting room or delicious coffee from Manzanita next door.
You order from the counter and your food will be delivered to your table. Everything we had was delicious though the pizza was a little on the burnt side from the wood fired oven.

What a little gem. Rustic setting for wine tasting, food and shopping. Order food first, then go to the wine tasting for pairing recommendations. They allow you to tastes before you purchase a glass of wine. The nice part about this winery is that you can walk around with your wine!

Hot Ciabata bread awesome.
Ordered with Prosciutto & salami as well as buratta, olive, and tomato.
Prosciutto quite thick, unusual.
Bit too much balsamic with olive oil.
Spaghetti al Dante. Meatballs nice. Sauce quite nice.
Paired well with wine. Didn’t try pizza or charcuterie but want to try next time.
From tasting flight, white taste the beat over rose, burgundy.

Cool little winery with shops and a little museum nestled in a residential neighborhood. Decent food, decent wine. 20 bucks for a tasting board. Cool place to bring the family.

Rancho Bernardo’s Winery is a Historical Winery, and is a Fantastic place to sit down, Dine outside in the Patio area, and eat Fantastic Food ! The Ciabatta Bread with Tomatos,Basil, cheese n Pistachio’s with Balsamic is Fantastic ! The Lasagna, and the Duck Pasta are cooked to Perfection ! The Staff are excellent, and the Chef comes out to visit the Guests. Their Wine tasting is exceptional. The shops around the Winery are fun to visit. My favorite shop was Olive & Cork-I bought Bernardo Winery Oak Barrel Aged Balsamic Vinegar which is a 10 !
