What a great brunch spot with free live blues on Saturdays 12-3. The food and service were fantastic and so was the blues! Can’t believe this place wasn’t more full. The pricing was very reasonable and the portions generous. Let’s review: the seasonal fruit (pictured) was a sweet, tart and refreshing mix of berries, lemon zest, and mint. I usually hate mint. But this was very fresh. It worked well. The mixed greens with quinoa were dressed well with a tasty vinaigrette. But the home run was the Cuban. One of the best I’ve ever had. Perfectly crisp and hot panini with delicious melted cheese, pork and beef. The service was impeccable. Food came out quickly. The latte was perfection. I would be in here every Saturday if I lived in the area.

Everyone has to try this place out!! Everything from start to finish was amazing. Superb service and excellent eats! Everyone was so nice. We had the Indian puffy tacos, cabbage, crispy cauliflower, and savory donuts. My favorites were the puffy tacos and the cauliflower. The tacos were such a nice surprise. Starts off crunchy then a burst of flavor! The savory donut had meat butter. Tasted like elevated Combos. Anyone ever had those pizza snacks from the convenient store? lol. The cabbage was my least favorite. We also ordered the ice cream trio and mousse for dessert. They ran out of the mousse so the server recommended the churros. She gave us the churros dessert on the house since they didn’t have the dessert we wanted originally. The ice cream trio was delicious with unique flavors. Brown butter whiskey pecan. Sweet corn blueberry and toasted vanilla. The churros were amazing too with coffee ice cream!! I was just pleasantly surprised by this place. I never had service like this before. Such a memorable experience and can’t wait to go back and tell everyone to go there too.

Fantastic restaurant all around. The staff was very welcoming, friendly and helpful. We sat at the bar and D was amazing, helping us to navigate the menu and taking care of us. If you like espresso martinis this is the place to have one. The food is delicious beyond belief.

I like that the plates are made for sharing, like family style, so you can try multiple dishes. We ordered the delicata squash, crispy cauliflower, gnocchi, garlic fries, and pork chop. I can’t begin to describe how incredible the mixture of ingredients in each dish was. My favorite was the gnocchi that is pan fried so that along with its pillowy softness you get a little bit of crunch with each bite.

There are so many other items on the menu I want to try that I can’t wait to go back. This is a must try when you’re downtown.

Sorry for just the one picture. It was the first dish to come out, crispy cauliflower. It was so incredible that I started digging into the other dishes forgetting to take pictures before doing so because I was so excited to try the next and the next.

First time trying out The Kitchen and I loved it. Great atmosphere, wonderful staff, live music on Saturday. And the food was great! I love the smaller portion so it doesn’t overwhelm you but still leaves you satisfied. I would highly recommend it to anyone visiting Austin to try this hidden gem.

Updating my review — and happily this time. The Kitchen invited my family back after our first visit, and honestly… they crushed it. Total redemption arc.

The staff was super friendly, the service was smooth, and the whole place just felt great. And shoutout to them for actually listening to feedback about drink pricing — rare these days!

Drinks we had:
Tequila flight (dangerously good), an Old Fashioned (smooth and strong, the way it should be), a dirty tequila martini (way better than it sounds), and a white wine that paired perfectly.

Food rundown:
• Tuna Crudo: Fresh and awesome.
• Prosciutto: Simple, salty happiness.
• Cauliflower: Shockingly good — like “why am I eating more cauliflower” good.
• Scallops: Perfectly cooked.
• Tagliatelle: Comfort in a bowl.
• Prime Skirt Steak: Juicy and actually a proper portion this time.
• Chicken a la Brassa: Packed with flavor and one of the stars.

Overall, they really went above and beyond. Great food, great service, great vibe.
We’ll definitely be back — and this time, happily

I hate to give this place 3 stars because it was actually a beautiful restaurant. We go to many high end restaurants in Austin.

2 reasons for marking them down:

1. PORTION SIZES
For the price- example is their skirt steak. It is $45-$50 for this item which is a main meal meant to be shared and it’s EXTREMELY small. I could get a reasonable steak at Jeffries for this price and it’s would not be a skirt steak. It was miniature.

2. DRINK PRICES
I love tequila and drink all sorts of top shelf tequila. I typically drink tequila on the rocks where ever I go. I ordered several Casamigos reposados to find that when I got the check, they were $35 each which is insane. That’s almost the price of Azul which in my opinion is the best Tequila money can buy. I had 3 of these and to find that it at this point was 1/4 of these entire cost of our meal.

These 2 things are unfortunately enough to have me not want to go back to this restaurant.

My daughter and I had a great date night but try finding hot chocolate to end the night. We stopped at five different spots and were turned down at everyone except the Kitchen. Not only did they make it special for my daughter but she said it was the best she’d had, ever. I enjoyed an old fashioned and the service and ambiance were perfect. Thank you to the staff for making our night complete. We will be back!

love the ambiance. great service. very attentive staff. the food is so good, many different flavors which i love! but also the food is very rich so keep that in mind when you order.

they apparently do live music sometimes – which i would definitely come back for!

also, the waitress knew we didn’t eat certain meats, so she substituted one of the entrees’s sides w another dish without us having to check / ask which was so nice!!! she was on top of the menu for sure.

the pics are so bad bc as always i take them after we’ve already dug in. let me say THE CHICKEN WAS SOOO TENDER. and the chutney with it. AWESOME. wow. duck bao was loved by my companions and the cabbage was chefs kiss.

Great service from personable people, the drinks were great and the shimp and smoked cheddar grits were fantastic. They had live music which seems to be a regular on the weekends. Not too packed and easily accessible so perfect for a Saturday morning/afternoon.

Ignore the one star reviews. They’re all clearly people who have never been to the restaurant, hence no pictures or text in their reviews.

We came to check out The Kitchen as soon as we heard it was open and were not disappointed!

The atmosphere was great, all of the staff was very helpful and the food was amazing.

It’s all served family style. We had the beets, carrots, crullers, Kansas City steak and the gnocchi and semifreddo.

It was all amazing but we particularly enjoyed the beets and carrots.

The steak was very well seasoned and extremely tender.

I’d never had crullers but those were also amazing.

We’ll certainly be back for another date night soon!

The Kitchen is a beautiful, reserved, intimate place to enjoy a special night. Addi provided wonderful, attentive service and helped us decide what dinner decisions to make. Our food was perfect, drinks were above perfect, and I enjoyed my birthday dinner here to its fullest extent. Thank you Addi, thank you Chefs, and thank you The Kitchen!
