The Kingstide is an amazing gem in the Charleston area. The atmosphere, professionalism, stellar service and five star food is top notch. Madi was knowledgeable, and an overall rock star. I loved her menu recommendations and friendly approach to a solo diner. Make sure to sit at the chefs table overlooking the kitchen to see the seamless team work their magic. Thanks to Glenn for stopping by and sharing the story of the Kingstide. They even have igloos to eat in on the rooftop! Thx for a memorable meal. I love the fresh pasta and crab as well as the roasted carrots on steroids.

This is a nice place with a beautiful view, great food and good service. It’s a little loud when the dining room is full and our server was a tad overbearing, but overall I would recommend Kingtide for the quality of food and cocktails. I also am looking forward to experiencing their outside terrace. It was beautifully set up and I can see it being a perfect spot for a drink and some snacks with friends, family, or for a special occasion

The atmosphere is what makes this place. They have an up stairs that overlooks the water and the bar window opens up, so it’s beautiful at night. If I lived in the neighborhood, I could see this being a great one of my regular spots. Down stairs is an upscale seafood spot. Both places have different menus. Seems they have something for everyone.

The food was good too. The hush puppies were amazing.

I had the blackened grouper served over Marsh Hen grits with a shitake-tomato butter and wood fired carrots. Both dishes were perfectly cooked and seasoned to perfection. Grouper was tender and flaky. The carrots were smoky with just the right amount of jalapeño heat. Both paired well with the Jax Chardonnay. The meal was topped off with a Kingstide crunch bar and a espresso martini. We ate on the porch. The view was terrific. It was one of the best meals I’ve had in a long time.

My girlfriend and I had an incredible dining experience here. From the moment we sat down, we were taken care of by Josh, who knew the menu inside and out. He gave us some of the best recommendations we could have asked for. I even told him to surprise me with an entree based on the flavors I like, and he absolutely nailed it. The Blackened Grouper he picked for me was nothing short of perfect.

Despite having a busy section, Josh never made us feel like an afterthought. He constantly checked in, made sure we had everything we needed, and his friendly, welcoming personality really made us feel at home. Every staff member who brought out our food or drinks had the same genuine kindness, which made the entire evening feel special.

The food was outstanding. The crab cakes, oysters on the half shell, and carrot cake were some of the best I’ve ever tasted. On top of that, the drinks were top-notch and complemented the meal perfectly.

After dinner, we made our way up to the rooftop where the atmosphere was just as amazing. The bartenders up there were just as friendly and welcoming, and the view made for a perfect way to end the night.

This place gets a full 10 out of 10 from us. If you’re looking for a spot that combines phenomenal food, genuine hospitality, and a beautiful atmosphere, you will not be disappointed.

We ate here twice in 3 days. Dillon was great – had him both times. Lobster bisque was outstanding first night, batch slightly less so second time. Grouper was lovely both times. Cesar salad was excellent. Calamari was very meaty – one said best he’d ever had! Brussels sprouts and carrots are fantastic – don’t skip!!! The view of the water is beautiful and they have a playground outside too.

Took my girlfriend to Kingstide for a date night and we were lucky enough to be seated at the chefs counter. The kitchen staff make it a point to welcome us in and interact with us as we were fortunate to be able to watch them work. Our server Josh was fantastic and made us feel like we were family. The entire staff was so accommodating and super friendly. The bar staff were very knowledgeable and kind with drink recommendations and substitutions.

All of that and I haven’t even gotten to talk about the meal yet!

The food was amazing. It was very difficult to decide what to order and what not to order as everything looked and sounded delicious. As we suspected everything that we did order was fantastic. We will HAVE to go back and try the things we did not order for the next time we visit.

10/10 recommend. Thank you Kingstide!

Every trip has one standout meal, the one you remember long after you’re home. For our visit to Charleston, that meal was at The Kingstide.

The restaurant’s waterfront vibe is the real deal; we even saw a dolphin swim by while we were sitting down. The staff made us feel welcome right away, and we started with the seafood tower. It was an impressive spread of fresh, chilled shellfish and the perfect way to begin.

But while the tower was good, the grouper was the highlight of the night. It was served over incredibly creamy grits, and the fish itself was cooked perfectly. It is a simple dish, but it’s executed so well that it truly stands out.

We came looking for a memorable seafood dinner, and The Kingstide delivered. We highly recommend it if you’re visiting the area.

Came highly recommended and did not disappoint. Amazing, down to earth service and the food was incredible from appetizer to main course. Tried the mussels, the cauliflower, and the grouper entree. All top notch.
