Fantastic authentic Kansas City, Soulfood barbecue restaurant! Just incredible food!
Hung out talking to the King himself. Incredible guy with a long history in the Kansas City restaurant scene. Burnt ends on the baked potato with shrimp and onion rings was so good, I had to get a slab to go for the family! I highly recommend this local gem. I’ll be back for the food and the community! God bless!

Genuinely soulful people cooking up some mighty fine BBQ. The workers were an absolute joy to talk and hang out with, super down to earth and will make you feel more welcome than you have ever felt with your own family. The food will have your soul ascend to meet the Good Lord to thank him personally for such simple pleasures in life. I know I sure gave my thanks, because this place will forever engrave itself into my memory of criminally underrated places. I don’t think I even have to mention the large portion you get for a more than affordable price, I’ve said enough here. 10/10, coming again, bringing the current and future generations of my bloodline here, and I will be regaling the tale of my experience to everyone who lends me an ear for years to come.

I like trying new local BBQ places, as the old standards have either lost their focus, or no longer offer a good value. The owners were there and made me a huge sampler platter of all their items. It wasn’t on the menu, but for under $100 I had great BBQ for 4 days, and perhaps the best potato salad ever. Give it a try if you’re tired of the same BBQ places here in KC.

Awesome little BBQ place, right around the corner from the Kansas City Zoo. Delicious food, large portions, and wonderful service! I wish we didn’t live so far away.

We went on a Sunday and had the soul food special. It was a good deal and good sized portion. Chicken, dressing and two sides. But also a drink and peach cobbler came with it. They just opened and need to establish themselves (website, social media presence etc) but in time they should be doing well. We will go back.

When i ordered a turkey dinner, I was not aware I was getting deli
sliced turkey. SMH! I thought it was unusual going into a soulfood restaurant on a Sunday after 1:30 pm. & and I was the only one there ( kinda creepy). Was no take backs i live in omaha. People from KC bad day or norm?

You could watch a chiefs game here and drink. Friendly people. Good made to order french fries! Good beans. I didn’t care for the Kansas City style burnt ends, it wasn’t what I was expecting.

Great food!! I believe in a good cause! This place is honorable. Your purchase helps feed the starving neglected people our Government has forgotten. God bless this place!!!

Smoky and delicious!! They just opened so don’t let the lack of reviews turn you away. I had a beef sandwich with fries and baked beans. The fries were super hot and fresh, the beef was amazingly smoky and sandwich was huge too. And the baked beans… I’m honestly picky about baked beans and they were great. The plate was huge and I had to get a to go box to bring home what I couldn’t finish! The King and Queen were both there and super nice, i had a great experience. I’ll definitely be going back to try their Sunday dinner and burnt ends!!

I’ve been trying to eat here for months but they’re never open when I go despite Google Maps saying they’re open. Good food for the price and it’s nice to have something mom-and-pop in the neighborhood. I hope to be back to try out different food on the menu. Very laid-back and friendly kind of environment, feels like visiting a friend’s house.
