Big fan of this place. Has a lot of amazing music history and every Tuesday night it never disappoints. I highly recommend coming out on a Tuesday night and seeing The incredible live music. Not to mention the fact that you get to order the incredible food directly from Canter’s deli. It’s like the icing on the cake. Give it a go and see what it’s all about for yourself.

I was a regular customer at Canter’s for quite some time, but I stopped going after an unpleasant and unjustified incident with a manager named Amy.
On that day, I paid for my meal in advance at the cashier before receiving my food. Despite this, Amy called me a “walkout” and refused to serve me. I was wrongly accused, which was deeply hurtful as a valued customer. The accusation was false and embarrassing. A simple check with the cashier would have confirmed my payment, yet no attempt was made to verify the facts.
Publicly accusing a regular customer of theft without checking is unacceptable.
I also had concerns about cleanliness—flies in the deli area and around pastries, and poorly maintained restrooms.
Because of this incident and these issues, I stopped visiting. The accusation made no sense; if I were someone who walked out on bills, I would not have been a regular customer.

Great deli. Has large food portions at very reasonable prices. The service is great and the staff is very friendly and helpful. Late at night, the Kibitz room at Canter’s deli is a great intimate spot to see live music.

I went there while traveling in LA (from New York)
My phone was dying and I was alone so I purchased a sandwich and asked if I could charge my phone. I am a non-binary person and the manager was already giving me an attitude as she glared, looking at my outfit. She then seated me near an outlet.
My phone was charging slowly and she confronted me after 30 minutes (just as I finished eating) and told me I couldn’t charge my phone any longer or sit at the restaurant. Imagine this happens to you late at night and TRAVELING ALONE thousands of miles from home.
This place is horrible. To top it all off, the sandwich was not seasoned well -very bland for a corned beef sandwich and mushy.
THIS PLACE IS HORRIBLE. DONT EAT HERE.

This is an awesome bar with great music guests. It can get a little loud, but is otherwise great! The food from Canters is some of the best deli food you’ll find!!
