5pm reservation for 4 on NYE. Greeted warmly and seated promptly in an overflow room. Service was quick and efficient but devoid of any personality, just business and no humour. We were obviously a task to be completed. Wife had bleu cheese filet, daughter had sirloin and crab cake, mom had prime rib and I had baseball sirloin. All were very good but the filet was the clear winner. Definitely skip the twice baked potato, get a baked potato with all the fixings and you will be much happier. Wedge salad was good. Mushrooms Neptune and bacon wrapped scallops appetizers very good. Bill with a generous tip and 2 beers was $450. This was my first time at the Keg, I dont think I will return because the waiter put a real damper on an otherwise celebratory evening.

Let’s just say I was pretty satisfied.

First time at the keg, and I felt like I was inside a homey wooden cabin. The sides came and I was thoroughly impressed with the Mac and cheese’s flavor and pull. After came the mains, and I ordered a 14 oz prime rib that was… drier than Death Valley. However, the dessert was extremely delicious. Our server and the staff were extremely caring and accommodating, making my table feel at home.

Sides:
-Caesar Brussel Sprouts
-Baked Brie
-Mac n Cheese

Mains:
-Prime Rib Sandwich with Fries
-The Keg Burger with a Baked Potato
-Salmon and Mashed Potatoes
-Grilled Chicken and Mashed Potatoes
-3x 14 oz Medium Rare Prime Rib (Different Sides)

Dessert:
-2x Sticky Toffee Puddings

I would recommend the sticky toffee pudding and the medium rare prime rib, as I tasted the others and came to a conclusion that it was mine that was dry.

Prices are also somewhat steep, so keep that in mind.

We’re familiar with The Keg as a Canadian restaurant chain, and the Gilbert location is the best we’ve experienced. It’s a classic steakhouse, albeit less formal than its counterpart to the north. The eclectic happy hour menu and drink specials are hard to beat. Seared ahi tuna really elevates a fish taco, and the bacon wrapped scallops were cooked to perfection. The prime rib sliders were also several notches above any sliders that we’ve experienced. Don’t forget the 18 ounce draft beer for only $6 until 6:00 pm. Overall, a surprisingly good value for outstanding food and beverages.

First time here and thoroughly enjoyed it! I had the Old Fashioned (very good) as well as the Kegnog (Really good if you like eggnog) and the wife had the Orange Slice Martini
Appetizers were Calamari and Bacon Scallops skewer.
Both were very good as were the sauces that came with the order.
Dinner was Blackened Chicken, The Keg Burger, The Kansas City Strip Loin and The Chilean Seabass.

All 4 are in the picture.

Drinks were great!
Food was excellent!
The service was top notch!
Highly recommend and will definitely return

Our team selected the Keg at SanTan Village for an end of year dinner. We reserved and requested a table for five but when we arrived, they tried to put us in a circle lounge table, which is perfect for two but nowhere near big enough for five. Because of the crowd at the restaurant we were able to grab a high top table in the bar area. The service from getting drinks to getting food was not good. The person that served us came by several times to see us then would walk away without taking drink or food orders. Once we got our drink orders in the drinks were delivered quickly but there a 15 minute absence of our server from the time we received our drinks until we were able to place our order. She came by the table multiple times, but did not stop in to ask if we were ready to order. Once we had our orders in the food came out in a reasonable time. Everything we ordered was excellent keeping with the Keg standards. I had the Baseball Sirloin and it was perfectly prepared with the right amount of pink in the middle and excellent searing on the outside. Others had the top sirloin, rib eye, and lobster. Everyone was happy and the food was worth the service delays.

We had been to the Keg Before but it has been several years and I made a reservation for our 9 year anniversary for a nice dinner out. We were greeted and promptly seated by the friendly staff before our waiter Ben a very pleasant attentive server. When I made the reservation online I was sent a coupon for a free appetizer and we opted for the shrimp cocktail and we ordered cocktails. I had their Mai Ti and she had one of their cocktails called a Danny Ocean. The shrimp cocktail was fresh and shrimp was top quality. The drinks were both tasty and well messed but my only complaint in our entire experience was the price for what seeded like quite small drinks. With the ice there was not much room left for the drink for the prices charged. My wife ordered the salmon and her special request for how she wanted it prepared was happily taken and followed. I ordered the 12 oz New York strip with the garlic mashed potatoes med rare. She said her salmon was very good and well prepared. My steak was amazingly good. The quality of their meat is top notch and it was cooked perfectly. The garlic mashed potatoes were the best I’ve ever had and overall it was an amazing dinner. It is not cheap but for what you get and the quality it is well worth it. We will be going back again soon. If the New York strip was that good I can’t wait to try their fillet.

We came here for an early dinner while on vacation. My wife had a fillet which was cooked perfectly, and I had prime rib with a twice baked potato. The bread that was served with dinner came out nice and warm with softened butter. We also had a slice of their house, made ice cream pie. The restaurant was quiet and all of the food was delicious.

We have really enjoyed the times we have been here. Once for anniversary and another for a lunch date.

The bread is amazing and they have this seafoody melted butter deliciousness to dip it in. Just ask for it and they’ll bring you some.

Steaks and prime rib have always been good. Will keep coming here again and again.

One of the benefits of doing business in the Verde is knowing where to eat lunch, in and out quickly with a great menu. Lol, think about dinner when you go there for lunch, you’ll want a “to go box”, the portions are that big.

I’ve been aware of The Keg for most of my life, having visited many locations and always expecting that classic premier steakhouse experience. Unfortunately, the SanTan Village location in Gilbert fell short. Maybe being so far from its Canadian roots has caused it to lose some of its magic.

Three out of four of our meals missed the mark. The couple dining with us had both of their steaks comped because they weren’t cooked as ordered. Mine wasn’t right either, but I didn’t want to pile on. Still, when you’re paying a premium at a steakhouse, you should get exactly what you ordered–that’s their bread and butter.

On a positive note, our waiter was fantastic. However, the experience started off on a strange note with a foul odor at the hostess stand. When we asked about it, she had no explanation.

All in all, this visit was a letdown. I’d recommend giving this location a pass. Saluti
