My husband and I used to love to come here. We considered it one of our home bar/hangouts. Most of the bartenders are lovely. The drinks are good. Most of the food is good. Prices fair, good specials.
We are sad to say the customer service for 2 issues that came up was not acceptable.
First, we reported getting food poisoning from a potato skin appetizer one evening and called up to share that info— just in case anyone else had ordered them. Were told we’d be refunded/comped and the owner would call us. Never happened.
The 2nd time—husband was double charged on his drink—he called to report it, spoke with the manager. Was promised a call back from the owner. Didn’t happen. He went in person a few days later to follow up. Owner not on site, bartender gave him the run around we’ll get back to you response. Also didn’t get a response.
We loved coming here. But the way management handles reported concerns (or should I say, doesn’t handle them) prevents us from going back.
Should management/owner see this, we remain open to a discussion to remedy the above issues. We would certainly come back if the above is acknowledged/remedied.

I always enjoy my time when I visit Kavern 636! Bartender Jessie is seriously the best! She’s pleasant, respectful, fun and silly, but always remains professional. She was the Bartender for another bar she recently left…I literally followed her here…this is now my new bar! A new regular! You just dont get great service like this anymore…plus its always neat to see a pretty face behind the bar ☺️

I have a great time every time I go here. The food is terrific (at least from what I’ve had for bar food) especially their French dip.
The owner and the manager really helped me out with a friend’s birthday and got the whole place decorated for 90s theme. It was such a wonderful memory made. They just went all out to make the night super special.
This is a great place to go and feel like you can unwind and relax. Super fun. It used to be a trashier bar and it’s totally converted into something worth checking out.

Everyone at The Kavern always welcomes me and mine in like family. From remembering names to recalling stories. It’s my groups go to “first bar” spot. Especially the bartender Jesse. From being extremely attentive to making the experience complete by just being herself! Will be coming back to The Kavern as long as she’s there!!

It doesn’t feel like a family restaurant. It feels like a large drinking establishment. Our food was fine. Service was good. The bathroom was extremely dark so you couldn’t tell how clean it was. No updates were made to the establishment by the new owners. Pot holes were hard to avoid in the parking lot too. It isn’t a memorable place that makes you want to go back to. Our first visit was our last also. We were the only people there for lunch only. Everyone else was there to drink.

I stop in here on my lunch break pretty often, and I’ll tell you, this place hits the spot. Food’s real good and don’t cost an arm and a leg, which is more than I can say for most places nowadays. Portions are solid too, actually fills you up.
Bartender Johnna is always real friendly. Knows how to take care of folks without makin’ a big deal out of it. She keeps the place runnin smooth and always has my drink ready before I even sit down.
If you’re lookin’ for a place that’s easy, quick, and not gonna empty your wallet, this is the spot. I’ll keep comin’ back.

I contacted the Kavern as I was over charged for my tab. I had 2 drinks and signed a total tab of a little less than $15 when I left. A few days later I see my cc was charged for about $64. I contacted the bar and the manager said sorry they swapped which card was charged now you have to reach out to the other person to get your money back. I don’t have any contact info for the person. I was basically told to bad. So watch your card here and maybe seek another place to drink.
Using the edit because I can’t reply to your comment. Sorry that’s not what happened. I came in after the rest of the people in my group. I handed the bartender a separate card and opened my own tab as far as I was told. If the bartender put all the drinks on one tab, she was mistaken to do that. I certainly signed a check, although I should’ve checked the last 4 numbers of the cc on the receipt, but I shouldn’t have to. She mixed this up with about 10 people in the whole bar. Shouldn’t be my fault. There is another receipt somewhere that I signed that night. There was 2 other tabs in my group alone. So what you say happened about my card being handed over for the whole tab is a fabrication, you weren’t there to know.
