We only had breakfast here, but thought it was a good deal. Anywhere else this would be a 3 star breakfast. At the resort I bumped it up to 4. The breakfast is reasonably priced and fairly good. If you were staying on or near the mountain and had a kitchen you could probably make an equivalent breakfast for less but you’d need to have brought your supplies with you and after the prep and cleanup I think most people would be worse off. I was happy to get a decent breakfast and get out on the slopes.

The staff here were always exceptionally nice.

We are a family of four (2 adults, 2 kids – 7 and 9). We arrived at 5:50 PM and were told there was a 30-minute wait, which was fine. We asked to leave a phone number and come back when our table was ready (like every normal restaurant does), but were told we must stand and wait inside. After about 5 minutes we were suddenly told to leave and come back in 40 minutes because it was “getting busy”. Already very odd.

We came back at 6:35 PM, were seated, and placed our order at 6:47 PM.
Then the disaster really started:
– Drinks took 20–30 minutes to arrive (soft drinks and a canned cider – nothing complicated).
– Food took 57 minutes after ordering to show up. Nearly an hour with two hungry kids.
– The staff kept running around apologizing to multiple tables saying “just a little longer”, so clearly this was not just our table – the whole place was overwhelmed and poorly managed.

And unfortunately the food did NOT make up for it.
Kids’ chicken tenders were clearly cheap frozen food thrown into an air fryer, fries the same. My wife’s tomato soup was $20 for what looked like maybe 8oz and came with a greasy soggy piece of bread. The only decent dish was the beer-braised short rib, which was actually quite good – but that alone does not justify the experience.

We paid $94 before tip and we did not leave a big one for slow service, disorganization, and very poor quality food (except one dish). For a family-friendly ski resort restaurant this is simply unacceptable.

Snowshoe is amazing, but this restaurant is not.
Save yourself the frustration and plan dining somewhere else.

I asked the server for a light to medium beer, but the beer I was served was very bitter and not what I expected. After tasting it, I politely asked if it could be changed. Unfortunately, the server said it could not be changed because the bartender said no.

There was no service-minded explanation or effort to help, such as suggesting another option or offering a solution. I understand policies, but better communication and customer care would have made the experience much better.

The atmosphere is nice, but the service experience was disappointing.

Unfortunately for all involved, the restaurant was unexpectedly busy with not enough staff for dinner tonight. We waited a long time to have our order taken, though our waiter did apologize for the delay. Our meals were hot and delicious however no one checked back with us if we needed anything else (and we had, but made do). I had to ask for the check, they did not notice we were done and waiting. The atmosphere is great, the food was delicious, however at least tonight service was below par. Apologies were given, but it affected our anniversary dinner and we did mind.

If you’re not coming here for breakfast, you’re crazy. Starbucks has a line and there’s literally no one in here with us, I had the French toast and they blew my boots off, coffee is fresh and hot, paired well with Jameson. Ready to hit the slopes!!!

Our server Karen was super attentive, I was very satisfied with my breakfast. Says they’re not open til 11 but we strolled in at about 8:30 am.

Walked in and were sat immediately. We waited for about 12 minutes and no one approached us although several staff walked past us. Finally walked up to the hostess and asked if we had a server. She said yes and a few minutes later the waiter that had walked past us multiple times finally arrives at our table. No apology for the wait, no how you doing nothing. Drinks? He says… we order and let him know we are ready to order. Now it’s 4:36pm and I go to order and he says we can’t make that until 5pm. I was like oh… no let me see if the kitchen can make that now or nothing… just a table side manner of a brick. Since acquiring our business was of no interest to them we decided to just leave… Foxfire grille much better so don’t waste your time going to the Junction.

Our appetizer’s (dumplings & brussels sprouts) were tasty. The sirloin was very good; pink and warm in the middle as ordered. However the ribs did not appear to be cooked to order and was tough. Our server was very good. Overall a bit on the high side for what was delivered.

Without a doubt, the Junction Ale House is among the busiest on the mountain, but it has an amazing staff that works really hard. Abby, our bartender, not only single-handedly made every drink, but she went out of her way to grab a seat so we could avoid a 40-minute wait and eat at the bar. Their food is pretty basic family dining fare, but their grilled cheese and tomato soup is the best I’ve ever had. I look forward to it every time we’re in town.

Our waitress kinda ruined the whole experience, just rude because we asked for our order to be served the way we ordered.

Just a sour experience overall.

EDIT:
The staff and manager went above and beyond to make things better, and the food was great. Thanks everyone.

Meh… the food here was boring and tasteless. To make it worse, my server was not good. She looked like she was high and was way slower than the other servers in the restaurant. The food was not at all worth the price they charge. Once again, we have people charging top price for low-grade food. As you go to check out, you will notice extra charges on your bill for eating at the resort. I’m not sure why these are here, aren’t taxes enough? Why charge another fee? Anyhow, this place is a no-go if you have taste buds and expect quality.
