The Juicy Crab® story starts long before the opening of the Duluth, Georgia, first corporate restaurant in 2015.
The Chen family’s inspiration ultimately came from New Orleans and the world travels of Grandfather Chen.
Grandfather Chen was a sailor who traveled the world learning many different styles and ways of cooking seafood.
One of the main influences that every family member loved was the New Orleans style of cooking seafood.
Today, Juicy Crab Franchise has over 40 restaurants throughout the United States and is a market leader in the seafood restaurant service market.

Absolutely LOVED the steamed “Build your own seafood combo” bag (Dungeness Crab and black mussels – garlic+butter only), as well as our server. She was sweet and on point! I’d have given 5 stars overall based on the service and entree, but the oysters on the half shell tasted like they were fresh out of the freezer, with zero flavor.

Ordered food through UberEats and after over an hour wait the food was not ready. Due to the restaurant being short staffed, they were giving priority to in-house orders and not to-go orders. This is an extreme lack of poor management, poor planning and service. I asked for the manager on duty, Juan, multiple teams and he could not meet with me, only sent the lead server, who tried to help but offered no resolution. I am very disappointed in the unprofessionalism and lack of consideration given to patrons. I was visiting Winterville and expected better service than what I received. The owner Hardie Chen needs to do a better job managing his restaurant!

I own a restaurant for 20 year in Charlotte, North Carolina my son graduate we went over there on Friday, February 6 I ordered tilapia food was very bad soggy I cannot believe that restaurant is stay in business, the waiter. She’s really nice I give that business three months probably last I’m surprised how people they go to that restaurant menu very limited. It’s a seafood place no salmon all they have shrimp basket, crab, and sausage. It’s a seafood place. You should have a lot of variety seafood very disappointed. I wish the owner a manual to stay in business.

My husband and I went last night around 7 pm for our 6 year wedding anniversary. Upon arriving, we waited at the hostess stand for almost 10 minutes before being acknowledged or sat. There was not a wait for a table, which we appreciated. Our server sat us and let us know that she would be back soon to get our drink orders. We sat and waited at the table for almost 30 minutes before we got up and found another waiter to ask where our server was- since we had not been asked for our drink or food order. The waiter found our server and she promptly came over and apologized profusely for forgetting about us. My husband and I were both servers at one point in our lives, so we are not upset by this. Our server was genuinely apologetic and mistakes happen. We put our drink and food orders in with her and were served drinks shortly after. At this point, it was about 7:45. We waited an hour for our food to come out, and again, our waitress was apologetic and extremely nice. She explained that the kitchen was backed up, which we understood. But we watched other parties who had been seated long after us receive their food and leave before our food finally came out. The food was subpar at best. The crab legs were not cooked properly, it was impossible to get any meat out of them and they were cold. The crawfish was cooked well, but my food was almost inedible. I ordered medium spice, my husband ordered mild. I tolerate spice extremely well, but my sauce was bright red and extremely spicy for a “medium” level (I typically get medium and it’s a comfortable kick, this was next level). For reference, I tasted my husband’s mild sauce, and there was no spice to it. My medium, which is the next level above mild, tasted more like three levels above mild. At this point, we were dissatisfied with our experience and ready to leave. Again, we are not upset with our waitress in the slightest. She apologized to us profusely and was great the rest of the night, and we tipped her to reflect that. However, the quality of food for the price we paid, as well as the poor wait times, was extremely disappointing and on a special occasion at that. I prefer Juicy Crab over Hook And Reel down the road, but after last night my husband and I were wishing we had gone to Hook And Reel instead, and I can’t say that we’ll be back if this is the level of quality that we can expect at the price point.

Every other time I order to go through door dash to pick up my food or to have it deliver the food is horrible. The size of these crab legs are the equivalent of a box of crab legs from walmart. Publix has bigger snow crab leg than this. The crab shell is super brown, overcooke, and stuck. They don’t put the sauces in the bag, utensils, wipes, gloves and overall this place needs major improvement. I paid 47.99 for this horrible seafood boil that was not even good. The shrimp super overcooked as well as the crab. Please do better this is super disappointing.

The food was great, especially the shrimp and their boom boom sauce. The waitress was really nice and made sure we were taken care of. While we were there, a big game was going on, so we were just chilling and enjoying our time. We went to grab a couple of drinks, and the bartender was also really cool. If you enjoy good food and great company, I would definitely recommend coming here!

The food was FANTASTIC. When they say juicy crab, they weren’t lying. The service was very welcoming, with a great, neutral, and homey atmosphere—but when the games come on, everyone gets riled up and the bar reaches a whole new level. I really recommend this place!

Terrible Terrible Terrible customer service. So I ordered my food over the phone because I needed to be somewhere. I get there, it’s already a few people in there, it’s only one waitress in the front that’s trying to take care of everybody and she says who has a online order who has DoorDash. So I told her, Hey, I called in someone else there had called in as well. So she was like, okay. I’ll get right to you so we standing there for quite a while, and she goes over to the bar where she lost a customer because he had been there for too long and he had to go back to work, so one of the other guys at the bar offered to pay for his food so then we’re back to waiting again nobody’s acknowledging us or anything. So she comes out, she says the wrong name on the bag, but the other girl that also had a call in order gets her bag pays for her food and then I say I have a call in order too, she said, well, I didn’t take your call in, it has to be the girl that took your order that can take it. I’m like, okay. So the girl never comes or whatever I ask can I speak to a manager, the manager comes out, he doesn’t have a good attitude. He’s making excuses about how things work. And I’m like, so you think that’s cool, you think it’s good customer service and he’s says Doesn’t think so, and he’s still goes on to make further excuses. And eventually he apologizes, and I guess the little raggedy girl that was supposed to have took my order came from the back with her wig and her eyelashes and her bad attitude snatched the receipt off my bag and stuck in the little thing where they keep the receipt. She never said anything to me and I would rather not have engaged with her anyway , because it would not have went well and I was already outside with my bonnet on. The manager gave me a 10% discount. I will never go back there again. I forgot to mention my food was already sitting in the counter the entire time! I was just trying to surprise my daughter for a good math grade. My anxiety was on 10 trying to maintain my composure so I wouldn’t be the angry black woman over some crab legs. Never again! Our family took my mom for her birthday today. We had a wonderful time and delicious food. What made it even positively great was our server AVERY FREEMAN. He was everything a server should be. He was polite, funny, respectful, knowledgeable and on top of his game. He even made my brother laugh and he doesn’t think anybody is funny. Keep up the great hospitality Avery! Go to the Juicy Crab in Winterville everyone.
