We had a late lunch after touring the Houses of Mount Gretna. There are two lines when you order: one for ice cream and one for food. They must have really good ice cream because the line was for times longer. But the crab cake sandwiches were good too and the wait only about 10 minutes.

Ahhh the classic standby for ice cream or a quick meal in Mount Gretna. Only one big problem. The food and the ice cream are basically ok and average, but it is the only game in town so it’s pretty popular at all times.
The problem seems easy to solve with just a little bit of creative effort. In this beautiful natural setting, and among the members of this environmentally, friendly community, it seems absurd that the servers behind the counter each separately handle each order and the payment transaction, there’s very little opportunity for efficiency and, they have to change gloves after every order! The plastic waste is far far more than it needs to be, and I would hope that the owners or the community would wake up a bit

I found this shop 3 years while hiking and lakes in area during summer months. This area gets packed in summer. Really great ice cream and short food menu. Seasonal spot that is a great getaway for a cool down.
Near mount Gretna lake. Area is populated with Seasonal homes, parks, hiking trails, lakes, golf, etc.
In the mountain side so definitely a break from city life.
A nice quick weekend getaway.
The wraps are awesome. The Jamaican jerk chicken wrap/chicken BLT wrap all the food we had was delicious.

Great varieties, and reasonable prices too, and the service was excellent might I say so if you’re in the area make the Jigger Shop a stop before you head out on your way. They took special care in meeting our needs and it made us feel special indeed.

Living in Michigan it had been almost 15 years since I was here last. As soon as I had the ice cream and food it reminded me of so many good memories I shared with my grandparents all those years ago. If you’re questioning whether to get some ice cream or some burgers look no further. This place has it! Every road trip I take this place will be a stop for sure 🙂
