The patties back home in NY are better, but for LA- wasn’t expecting much.

I wouldn’t take a date here, but for quick lunch, decent choice.

⬆️ Service was friendly and efficient

⬆️The beef patties are good. Super flaky and good portion of filling. Could use more seasoning but don’t hate it.

↔️ Curry chicken patty was ok. Kind of bland, could use more salt, too.

⬇️ cost to portion ratio

Not a destination but if in the neighborhood, not bad.

So i ordered a stewed fish and they said it would be 35 which generally took about 45 or 55 including the prep and serve. I was 4 minutes late to work but man let me tell you it was totally worth the wait. I’ve been to jamaica so I know good Jamaican food. The here is the spot, definitely “The Jerk Spot”

Delicious! The jerk chicken was falling off the bone and so soaked in flavor! The extra sauce was great for those who really want that kick! The beef patties were flaky and rich, the reggae bread was crispy and steamy. The plantain was like a flavor bomb! The prices felt a little steep for the humble setting, but we did not leave disappointed.

I do not typically leave reviews. However, after trying this food, I found it absolutely necessary to do so this time. I am visiting from the Washington, D.C. area and had a hankering for some Jamaican cuisine, so I decided to try The Jerk Spot. I ordered rice and beans with a side of jerk sauce, steamed vegetables, and a veggie patty. Every bit of it was a flavorless catastrophe. The rice and beans were severely overcooked to a mushy consistency, the jerk sauce had absolutely NO FLAVOR; it was all heat…nothing else. The vegetables…flavorless AND dirty. Yep. That’s right. There was still visible dirt on some of the cabbage. I was naively hopeful about the veggie patty, because it had a descent crust that was crispy and flaky, but the minute I bit into it, all hope turned into defeat. It was more flavorless mush. I saved the best part for last. There was a strand of hair beautifully woven into the rice and beans!!!!!!!!!!! I have NEVER had Jamaican food this horrible. I am left hungry, disappointed, and disgusted. I would have received a better return if I had thrown my money into the wind. PLEASE DO BETTER!!!! GOOD GRIEF!!!!!!!

Wow! This place is a low-key spot that has the hits! I was in the area with a friend and wanted something quick and easy to eat. He recommended this place. I ordered two chicken curry empenadas (one to eat there and one for later). It was PERFECTION… fresh and hot, with a flaky light crust, the filling prepared with the perfect amount of seasoning. They were so good, I ate both of them in the parking lot! I’m still thinking about them, tempting me to brave the freeway system from Glendale to Culver City. Not expensive, very satisfying, just good food made with pride. The place was clean and smelled amazing. I haven’t had Jamaican food in over two decades, but I’m not going to wait that long to come back to this establishment. If you want to support a small family business, eat some delicious fresh food, and not break the bank, this is the spot!

Ordered the jerk, stew chicken and oxtails. The only tasteful option was the JC. The oxtails were the worst I ever had and the rice was flavorless and cabbage was not better. I’ve never had such bad Jamaican food that moved me to write a review.I really wanted this to be my spot b/c it’s close but it is not authentic. There is no love put into the food.

Every time I go to this place the lil short dude with the long hair is always rude. I don’t know if I did something to her in another life but I’ll never never eat here again. Too much hate in that office.

She threw the chair at me with sound, no grace, no love, just rude. I should have walked to Del Taco. Every single time. Horrible

Oooh can’t believe I’ve passed this place so many times and today was my first time stepping inside and eating here. The food is awesome. I had garlic shrimp rice and peas steamed vegetables and plantain great value for money. Food is fulfilling hot washed it down with pineapple ginger. It’s really a treat. I had a coconut pie called garanza never heard of it before but it was really delicious. It was a mixture of coconut and brown sugar. The place is super clean and bright I sat inside and ate I will definitely most definitely be back here.
