The restaurant had a nice and relaxed atmosphere. It felt friendly and very all-American. The service was great; the staff were kind and attentive without hovering. The food was consistently good. The short ribs were rich and flavorful, the salads were fresh with the right amount of dressing and cheese, and the fries were crisp and well seasoned. Everything tasted like it was made with care and good ingredients. It’s the kind of place where you can enjoy a solid meal with friends in a comfortable setting. I’d go back.

Took the family here while in vacation. Our service was great and the place has a really cool atmosphere. The corn bread is not what you would think if you are from the south. It was more like a muffin with a fruit inside. Would not recommend.

We were seated outside at the patio on a sunny fall day. We had a light lunch with soup and salad. Soups were fresh and tasty. The brussel sprouts tasted good but perhaps a bit too much seasoning.

Overall a disappointment. It’s a nice place. The food was overall underwhelming for the cost. The truffle fries were over cooked and soggy, average at best. My wife has the Wedge Salad and the lettuce was waterlogged from not properly draining after rinsing it. The salad fixings and dressing amount was insufficient for the size of the lettuce and cost. I had the JCat stacker and for the cost it was only average in taste and size. Overall the value was not there. My daughter has the Classic Burger which was just average. Her Caesar sale also was underwhelming. The waiter was also slow to check in with us. Overall this restaurant looks nice from the outside and inside but there is no value in the quality of food or service. I understand in 2025 the food costs have risen a great deal but this restaurant is a pass for use going forward. Average at best.

I am in town for a short time and was catching up with an old friend who suggested lunch at this beautiful restaurant. The weather was hot though I love the sound of the beef bourguignon and after a brief conversation with our server decided to get it. I was completely wowed by how incredibly lean the meat was- rather than cubed it was more of a delicious Savory pot roast with tons of caramelized onions and marinated mushrooms over green beans. It was a very generous portion that I could not finish and was sad that time would not permit me taking the rest home. I raved about my meal and told the server I hope there was a dog nearby that could enjoy the rest of the meat as I hated for any of it to go to waste. Our server was lovely and attentive, and revealed at the end of the meal that she appreciated Our Kind review as it was her family’s restaurant. The atmosphere was lovely and clean the iced tea and coffee were delicious and I will tell everyone that I see on this trip to get out there and experience it for themselves.

Established cafe with indoor and outdoor dining. Had a delicious breakfast of perfectly prepared eggs, bacon, hash browns and homemade toasted honey oat bread. Staff was courteous and efficient. Nice to eat on the outdoor covered porch on a beautiful summer morning. Breakfast cost $17.00. I look forward to eating there again.

This place was recommend to us when we visited the Town of Essex Free Public Library. We were looking for a good meal and a cold drink. The service was excellent and the food was delicious. If we’re in the area again, it will be one of our stops.

Love this local restaurant and bar. Also has a small Cafe and pastry counter service if you are so inclined.
If they have their smoked ribs available I highly recommend. Likewise with almost any of their dishes. Plenty of options available, regular rotation of various seasonal specials. All have been excellent.
Wrap around patio is great for relaxing drinks or meal. The parking lot can routinely be very busy, some parking available along the boulevard, but sometimes can be challenging.
They have regular music on Fridays and Weekend nights, which is nice. The bar space can be a little tight with the band squeezed in, but overall pleasant.

We stopped there as part of our road trip and the food was just delicious and well prepared, the staff were friendly and always there to help, and the atmosphere was cozy and friendly.

This was a very nice place to stop for my lunch today. There was a ramp for my power chair, easy access, but I ate outside on this beautiful day. I only had time for a bowl of clam chowder, but it was excellent! They have some unique menu items which I’d like to try someday. Highly recommended!
