Last evening we experienced The Italian Joint in Downtown Kissimmee for the first time and loved it. We were seated and our server greeted us immediately with menus and took our drink orders. We ordered the 5 Cheese Fonduta ($14.95) for our appetizer, Salmon Margarita Dinner ($23.95), Mom’s Lasagna Dinner ($22.95) and a Kids Pasta to go (13.40).

While the parking was slightly confusing as the signs to the right of the restaurant claims they are for a different Italian restaurant, the Volcano Gnocchi was tasty (even though it was a lot). My only real complaint is that my food came a decent bit before the other guest I was with who ordered a calzone.

Found out last week that this place carried a vegan cheese for their pizzas, I was ecstatic to learn that there was (finally) someplace downtown Kissimmee that served a vegan alternative. When I went, both employees were so sweet and informed me there was also a vegan chocolate cake on the menu! The owner (and chef) made my pizza with care, and when the first one wasn’t up to his own standards (I’ll eat anything lol) he made a second one.

Such a great place! The service was wonderful! The environment was nice and laid back, family friendly. The food was very delicious! They even had gluten free and dairy free options. They also had a great selection of wine! Highly recommend if you’re in the area!

This establishment should be avoided at all costs. I visited this resteraunt last night for a date night with my boyfriend and was really excited to support a family owned business and the food looked incredible online. However after ordering our food and being brought our salads, half way through eating my salad I found a German roach inside my salad! Now I understand that being sat outside there is an extremely slight possibility that the roach was from the awning above (which is what the owner suggested), however most would notice if a bug fell from the sky onto their food and this roach was not on top of my food. After notifying the waitress, she returned to reluctantly inform us that the owner is certain that the roach did not come from her kitchen as their food is prepared with “care and cleanliness”. As a fellow business owner this response was appalling. Not once did the owner come and speak with us, nor a manager. However, the owner did relay the message that we could come and “visit his kitchen”. This was such a display of alarming and disheartening customer service and not a way to treat any customer. As for the manager responding to my boyfriends review and asking what could have been done, here are a couple options that exemplify exceptional customer service:

We decided we were craving Italian after a long day at Universal Studios. After googling places close to where we were staying we decided to go with The Italian Joint which was way out of the way but the menu seemed like it would be pretty good. Instantly after walking in the place smelled amazing. We got the Chicken Parmesan and the Pasta Vodka and it was honestly the best Italian food we have ever eaten. It was phenomenal!!! Not only was the food great but the staff were very attentive and just awesome.

Delightful scratch kitchen in downtown Kissimmee. Prices reflect the quality and care put into each dish. Very traditional, flavors are outstanding. Service was prompt and very friendly. I ordered the salmon margherita with broccolini and confetti potatoes. My partner ordered the chicken parmesan.
