I had arrived early as i had something to do beforehand and giving how freezing it was, instead of going to the pub, I decided to pop in and see if i could wait inside, i’m so glad i did, the waiter was absoulutley lovley, got my table ready and handed me the drinks menu while i waited- A warm, welcoming start.
We had a private booth that felt warm and cosy. The restaurant itself is beautiful and very Italian- Full of charm, and decorated so nice for christmas.
The food was outstanding, there was both a Christmas menu and à la carte which was great and plenty to choose from.
I had the garlic prawns, huge, full of flavour, and an amazing sauce.
One friend had the caprsese and loved it.
Another had the antipasti, which was so big it could have been a main
Another choose the pate, again plentiful and enjoyed.
I had the lasagne, lovely, huge portion size, I enjoyed every bite .
One friend had the Beef with veg and boiled potatoes, it looked modest at first though the beef portion was very generous, my friend loved it.
The others had pasta dishes, including one with prawns, both raved about.
The dessert was next level only 1 of us ordered the chocolate fudge cake with ice cream WOW! Probably the biggest slice I’ve ever seen with lots of chocolate sauce appreciated (no dry cake here ) It was devoured.
Drinks wise, great choice, two of us shared a bottle of red wine, I was between two and asked the waiter for his recommendation, he suggested the second option and was spot on, it was full bodied and smooth .
Two of our friends had the Moretti on tap – perfect. Coffee and liqueur followed, the Amerato wasn’t for me although my friend enjoyed his and mine .
The prices were excellent for the portion sizes and quality of food, the atmosphere was lovely, quiet when we arrived, then suddenly buzzing as it filled up.
The only slight to mention was the service was a little slow at times, although to be fair we did take our time deciding and the waiter was lovely and good- humoured about it.(when we finally said we were ready he joked ” no 2 minutes ” Fair play!
All in all it was a lovely day spent with friends, great food, great atmosphere and lovely warm service. Absolutely recommend
Watching an older man publicly berate a young employee for something as basic as staying hydrated was extremely uncomfortable. That young man did not deserve to be spoken to in that way, and witnessing this completely overshadowed the dining experience.
I will absolutely NOT be returning, and I cannot support or recommend a venue that treats its staff with such disrespect. How employees are treated speaks volumes about a place, and in this case, it was deeply disappointing.
Chicken Amatriciana is my main and my little girls is the macaroni (forgot its actual name). Good choice of kids food, lovely staff and will always ALWAYS recommend this place! Amazing!
Went for a chilled Saturday lunch, and the service was amazing.
Really friendly staff with a bit of banter.
Had water in minutes whilst we browsed the menu.
Ordered a lovely lemoncello cocktail it was delicious.
Good was delivered in a timely manner and very well presented. I had the caprse salad followed by risotto and both were full of flavour.
Good portion size too.
Staff were attentive throughout.
Nice atmosphere, music at a good level.
Will definitely be back
