The Italian Boy is a two-hour semiprivate “Panino Imbottiti” centered tasting experience. The ticketed price includes a complimentary cocktail, several antipasti, crudo, pasta (handmade or brass die cut), and “panini imbottiti” from our team. Rather than a traditional “tasting menu,” The Italian Boy offers an experience more like a meal you would enjoy at someone’s Italian neighborhood rowhome. This restaurant within a restaurant is a quiet, yet sometimes raucous space with a backroom feel (kind of like a little secret). We have one nightly seating at 7pm for up to 12 guests. Given this type of dining, we can not accommodate dietary substitutions. Così è la vita.

This is a one of a kind dining experience in Charleston! I love how small and intimate this restaurant is at night. There are 4 courses, so come hungry! The menu changes every month. The food was absolutely delicious. The presentation and the entire experience was wonderful. Chef Anthony puts his heart and soul into his work. We can’t wait to come back for more!

My husband and I had dinner there on 2/15. Outstanding! Hands down the best Italian and one of the best meals we have had in Charleston. Each course was perfectly executed and delicious. My husband and I had the joy of sitting at the counter, watching the chef prepare each course with care, storytelling, and a clear love for food.
The entire evening felt like a nostalgic nod to the family dinners we grew up with—wine served in water glasses, shelves lined with big jars of giardiniera and peppers, and warm conversation floating through the room. But while the vibe is old-school Italian, the menu surprises you. Each course offered a classic dish with an unexpected and delightful twist. The flavors were thoughtful and exciting.
Our favorite? The sandwich course—a perfect tribute to the shop’s daytime roots. It was so good, we already plan to return during the day just to see what else they’re crafting between bread.

6 of us had dinner at The Pass and I can’t say enough great things about the delicious food and phenomenal service. My husband loved the sardine appetizer, the sandwich appetizer had the best combination of flavors and the pasta entree was “lights out”! Henry did a fantastic job of serving. I highly recommend making reservations for dinner. Anthony, the owner/chef is so talented. Can’t wait to go back again.

Our group of six had a fantastic dinner experience with Anthony. I’m not sure what the reviews complaining about not enough food are talking about – I eat a ton and couldn’t finish it all.
Come with the right mindset and you will have a unique, excellent experience. This is not the touristy East Bay, Southern charm restaurant. Anthony (the owner) is old-school, Philly Italian. Engage him in conversation and you will have an amazing experience.

My husband and I were very excited to try this new concept! Unfortunately, we were so disappointed. The food was just not good enough for the price point. If simple food will be served, (e.g., burrata/anchovies/gigante white beans), it has to be incredibly delicious. The quality of the ingredients should also be phenomenal… and it was just not. The best word I can come up with to describe the food is, “fine.” The pasta course was the best part of the meal, but, not by a lot, and the pasta itself was slightly overcooked. The sliver of sandwich was also just ok – again, if that’s what will be served, it needs to knock some socks off. Also, the cake for the dessert was said to be soaked in Amaro, but it was very dry and not soaked in anything – there must have been some confusion around that in the kitchen. We don’t mind smaller portion sizes – we don’t like feeling stuffed – but in that case, the food needs to be top tier. Overall, we were expecting to be blown away, but we left feeling like we paid $300+ for a dinner we could have easily had for half the price, or made ourselves for a fraction of the price at home.

The food was spectacular, the chef and staff were top of their game, and the vibes/atmosphere took me back to a small gathering at a south Philly friend’s house.
