Didn’t care for the pretzel was very dry, water tasted like chlorine.steak w peppers n onions the shrimp and potatoes were good. Salmon wasn’t what we expected but was pretty good . Would have liked the salad on a separate plate it soaked up the meat juice. Service was slow but it was very busy. we will go back for a second try

I went here with my daughters. Well we were very happy. Wings are amazing! They love the fried pickles and my girls are picky. Sandwiches were great. Love the atmosphere . Our server Emma was amazing. She was busy but was very attentive and her service was great. She is a sweet friendly hardworking girl. Thank you! We will be back with the rest of our family.

We came here because the restaurant next door was snippy and it was indeed a happy accident! The New England clam chowder was excellent. Very fresh and lots of clams. Most places give you mostly potatoes but that was not the case here.

Wantagh has more than it’s fair share of Irish bars, with the Irish Poet being one of the newer additions. Much more spacious on the inside than the exterior leads on, which is a nice surprise. Long bar and ample standing space as well as a dedicated sitting area if you choose to dine gives you plenty of options. Walls are lined with TVs, it’s a great place to catch any major game. Beer choice is good, nothing too out of the ordinary through if you’re looking for something a little more off the beaten path. Staff were funny and friendly and I’d be glad to come back here again. Parking both in the front and back lot, so shouldn’t be too much of an issue.

We had a party for my mom last week. It was great! The pictures of the room on the website doesn’t do it any justice! It’s so nice! And definitely bigger than I thought. The food and service were amazing….Amy and Jen. I highly recommend having a party there!

The best pub in the Wantagh area! Everyone is very friendly and welcoming. Their pretzel is so soft and served with delicious beer cheese. Their Mac and cheese is creamy and delicious. Strongly recommend their cosmos! Can’t wait to go back.

The atmosphere is that of an upscale Manhattan Bar with the feel of a small town bar. The bartender Herbie is friendly and service is great. Food is exceptional, the Fish & Chips was crispy and fluffy, and tasted delicious. It is always an enjoyable time.

Nice local restaurant – I’ll be back. This location is 50% bar and 50% restaurant. I did see some families eating here, but I personally would not being young children. My wife and I were walk in’s around 6/7pm on a Saturday night. There was not a table available but we agreed to wait at the bar for the anticipated 30 min for a table. The bar location was nice. We stood along the divider between the restaurant and bar where they have a standing table. We were served quickly and my mixed drink was rather good. We were called for our table well in advance of our 30 min wait, which was nice. Started with the potato skin appetizer which was also rather good. It would have been nicer if the toppings were more evenly dispersed but overall it was good. I know, it sounds picky but some potato pieces had cheese, bacon and scallion, while others had nothing but cheese. I then had the steak tidbit sandwich. It was good, I would recommend. Service could be a bit slow at times, it took us a while to get the check and pay, but it was a fairly busy Saturday night. Relaxing and very nice atmosphere. Even though the place was crowded, it was not so loud that you could not talk. We’ll be back, either for lunch with the family, or for dinner just the wife and I.

Food was delicious, the place had all the games on, and the bartender was a very pleasant and engaging giant of a man, Herbie. The beer selection was nice and the Guinness was top notch. I might even compare it to Guinness in Ireland, which if you’ve been, is better than in USA.

Service was ok and my fish and chips could have been crispier. Very good beer selection. What turned me off was the 4% extra charge for using my credit card. There are plenty of other places that don’t charge extra. Covid extras are over.
