Walked in and was seated, no waiting. Huge list of Iowa beer and cider to choose from. Ordered the Philly egg rolls, very well made! Highly recommend ordering. Had the Iowa chop for the meal, wife had the French dip, both were excellent.

I got the tender slings with a side of fries, the tenders were great especially for an appetizer, very crispy and hot. The fries had amazing taste and seasoning. Overall a great experience and definitely wouldn’t mind coming back. Great atmosphere as well. The server was nice I don’t know if she had a name tag, I just wish she showed a little bit more energy and enthusiasm but that’s okay the food makes up for it! 🙂

This place had been on my list to visit when in Des Moines. I stopped in with my mom and sister after a very cold and very snowy shopping day around the city. It did not disappoint. The food and service were excellent, even whatever my vegetarian mom ordered was completely gobbled up. The pic is of the meatloaf which my sister and I both got and loved.

We went on a Friday night and it was packed! The place is laid out nicely but it is loud. You have to really strain to hear your table. However the prices were great and the food tasted amazing. My wife and I got two different types of tacos, both were yummy. I also tried a flight of beers, which seemed adequately priced. Then I went too far and got the Iowa Pie for dessert. It was amazing too and a very generous portion.

We hosted a retirement party in the Marquette Reception Room. Maddy and Brenna helped us plan all of the details. They were extremely responsive to every message we sent and were easy to work with! The event was amazing! We had the taco bar which was delicious! The staff that worked the event were very attentive, kind, and helpful. The atmosphere was beautiful and super fun. There was very little work to do on our end to make this happen. We walked in at the beginning and walked out when it was over. A great time was had by all!

Great variety of beers and cocktails. Appetizer and Southwest salad were good. The corn tortillas from the fish tacos were old as they fell apart when I picked them up. Should have fried a bit or doubled if they don’t intend to warm them up. Sweet potato fries seemed to be from a frozen bag.

Just stopped in to try a flight, they have an awesome selection of craft beers all brewed in Iowa. Great stop for trying local brews, friendly service, and nice relaxed atmosphere. Will be back next time in town!

You can never fail when heading to the Iowa Taproom, I ordered the chicken tenders while my husband ordered the peanut butter burger – both amazing! Drinks are always good and you can’t go wrong with what you pick.
