Imperial Palace exceeded my expectations from start to finish. The food was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully prepared, and the service was outstanding—attentive without ever feeling rushed.

The shrimp egg roll was the perfect starter: crisp on the outside with tender shrimp and vegetables inside, full of flavor without being greasy. The Szechuan cabbage was a real highlight—spicy, tangy, and perfectly balanced, with just the right amount of heat. The hot and sour soup was rich and comforting, with layers of flavor that made every spoonful satisfying. For the main course, the Hunan chicken was fantastic—tender chicken with a savory sauce, vegetables cooked just right, and a depth of flavor that kept me going back for more.

Beyond the food, the service really made the experience special. The staff was friendly, knowledgeable, and made great recommendations. Everything arrived promptly, and I never had to ask twice for anything.

Imperial Palace is a gem—I’ll definitely be back and recommend it to anyone looking for delicious food and great service.

We had a wonderful experience at Imperial Palace! The table settings were elegant, and the atmosphere was warm and inviting. The service was not only polite and incredibly helpful, but also impressively speedy, making our visit enjoyable.

We tried the Hunan chicken, sweet-and-sour chicken, and Mongolian beef, all of which were delicious and generously portioned. We even had leftovers to take home!

I highly recommend Imperial Palace for its great food, excellent service, and quick turnaround!

Food is higher quality when compared to other places, but not really my preference. Food didn’t really match up with the menu description, but the other people in our party really enjoyed their food. The people who work here, however, are amazing. I don’t know who waited on our 8-top this afternoon but she is perfect. All of the people here that we spoke with are amazing.

Elegant restaurant. Everyone is so friendly and happy to see you. Their tropical drinks are delicious and pack a punch. But the best part is the freshness of the food. Everything I’ve tried is so yummy. Love their wonton soup. Our go to for Chinese food. Best in Virginia Beach!

the food was ok. I was really disappointed by the Peking duck for two reasons, the scallion tortillas were just flat Mexican style tortillas with scallions on the side and the duck skin wasn’t very crispy and parts of it tasted burnt. my husband got the almond chicken and was surprised in a bad way by the flavor and texture but came around to it eventually. the soup and appetizers were great though, as was the service, atmosphere, and presentation but if I’m paying $60 for a traditional dish, I would hope to receive that.

The service and food were amazing. Everything was made fresh to order. The server was able to help ensure my spouse had a safe meal (she can’t have gluten). There aren’t many Chinese restaurants that even try.

Amazing experience, will be repeat customers.

My friends and I went there on Saturday and they had the dragon dance and collection of envelopes for the Lunar New Year celebration. Little did we know we would be charged a fee per person and 20% tip mandatory tip. I order ribs that were mainly bones, a lo main plate and crab Rangoon’s and my bill was $84.50. Most expensive Chinese food I have ever had. I felt bad for my friend who brought her whole family and had to pay a fee per person. Ouch! Never coming back! It would nice if you could let everyone know before serving us, so we could have walked out and gone somewhere else.

We’ve always liked whatever we ordered from Imperial Palace that’s why we were disappointed with our take out order – the shrimp fried rice had soy sauce overload and lacking in the usual Imperial Palace flavor. The the shrimp lo mein was not as good as what we have had before but the beef broccoli was still delicious.
