Our 1st time here today. FYI, the booths are cute, but are from the beginning of time, so choose a table for stability instead! Looked at the menu ahead of time. I had a roast beef 1/2 sandwiche with Tuscan chicken soup, and husband had country fried steak. He loved his! I loved mine was great too! Enjoy my pictures. Loved our waitress! The decor is crazy in here. Shingles on the INSIDE ceiling!

This has been around since I was a kid and I always stop when I’m around the area. Food is decent, it’s a fairly busy place and can be a bit busy. Clean but definitely hasn’t been updated in a while. Kind staff, and lots of memories.

Cobb Salad was amazing!! It was HUGE!! Waitress was helpful and friendly regarding my food allergies. The place itself needs an update but don’t let that stop you. No gluten free buns or bread.

This was a nice place, the floor was a bit dirty but it was near the end of the day also they opened the main doors and i got bit by a lot of mosquitoes; I got to try the roast beef, country fried steak and their bacon liver they’re pretty good except the country fried steak was like a sponge it wasn’t really a steak i guess but the gravy on it was super good the menu has quite a lot of things on it also the Michigan wild rice and mashed potato’s were fine the potatoes kinda tasted instant, the chili was really good not to strong or salty as well as not to bland I came her for my birthday and got free ice cream as well as 15$ off, the waitress was really nice and attentive. Pretty nice place overall and not bad prices for the portion sizes and what comes with them.

It was my second time coming to this restaurant and probably my last. I was here last year and had a great experience, but this time the cooks left and the restaurant had to close early due to this issue. We had already received or drinks and eaten our appetizers, but it took a whole hour for the rest of our food to come out. Our server didn’t talk to us or let us know what was going on or how long our food would be during any of this, and we were only able to figure out what was happening because we could hear the workers talking to each other across the restaurant. Eventually the waitress came out a hour later with our food and we decided to take it to go and got our food discounted by 50%. The fettuccine Alfredo was gross and the onion rings were soggy, the burger my friend got was okay.

Unlike most other businesses in the UP, this place is open when advertised. We tried half a dozen other places all over the UP and landed here. Upon entry, you step back into 1983 and furnishings are tired. But, we were pleasantly surprised. Wait staff was very friendly, prices were reasonable, and portions were very generous. Fries are double-battered and delivered crispy. Food was warm, if even a little too warm, and meals were enjoyed. Nice bathrooms and ample parking.

This is an old restaurant, and it doesn’t pretend that it isn’t. It embraces it. This adds to the experience. Food portions are huge. Read the menu carefully. I ordered The Hut burger. I didn’t realize it was a double patty. This isn’t a bad thing, particularly when your children love the fries so much they ask for yours. The burger itself with the side slaw was more than enough food. They were out of most ice cream so my wife didn’t get her coveted butterscotch malt. She has been to The Hut since she was a child. My kids were creeper out at first, but loved every minute of their time there.
