We celebrated our 25th wedding anniversary at the Hussar Grill in Port Elizabeth and it was truly a special evening! The 2-course Date Night special was fantastic value and every dish was beautifully prepared — from the perfectly cooked steak and indulgent desserts.
A big thank you to our wonderful waitress Mandisa, whose warm, attentive service made the night even more memorable. The team also surprised us with a lovely anniversary treat, which was such a thoughtful touch.
Great food, great atmosphere, and outstanding service — the perfect place for a celebration. We’ll definitely be back!

Celebrated our 30th Anniversary. We saw that special plates was used for Anniversary but not for ours. We booked and asked for the Date Night Tuesday as our Anniversary was 25 November 2025 we asked for thhe R599 menu. We frequently have to remind the waitress about the 3 course meal. We had to asked for the Anniversary wine, we had to ask for the desert, we had to ask for the two Chocolate Martinis. The waitress keep on talking about the 2 course meal which we didn’t asked for. Some staff was very friendly and very helpful. The place is clean and the food is of a very high quality. It’s an amazing place to eat. Just a pitty our waitress was not paying attention to what we want. Even when we received the bill a 2 course meal was added and had to be corrected to a 3 course meal a R100 needed to be added as the waitress bill R499. Just listen to what the customer want.

I find this places food very Overpriced and highly underwhelming . Mushroom sauce very watered down. No hint of fresh cream , the green beans was tough husk like in texture . chicken Breasts was tough . The calamari was highly underwhelming – main meal price but the portion was that of a starter

Truly wonderful, old-school restaurant experience.
The staff are very welcoming, professional and prompt.
The food is excellent and the portions are very generous. Everything we ate or drank was superb.
The chocolate vodka martini was sublime, the starters, main, dessert, absolutely everything was perfect.
The atmosphere is cosy and the interior finishes are just brilliant.

Excellent food, service and atmosphere. Went there for our wedding anniversary and decided to try something new. Never tasted such tender, juicy fillet before in my life. To top it, they spoiled us with some desert drinks on the house. Will definitely recommend them. Keep an eye open for their specials as well.

We are staying across the road and have dined at the Hussar three times now – what a fantastic place. I love the staff (always smiling and professional) and the steaks are INCREDIBLE. It’s hard for a New Zealander to admit defeat but it would appear South Africa has us soundly beaten when it comes to beautiful cuts of meat cooked to perfection. I will miss the place a lot when we return home tomorrow

The food has a variety to choose from, which comes with a complimentary bottle of wine. You can go for the two course or three course. For the date night special on Tuesdays.
The food was good, the service was also great. The manager even checked on us and gave us a few good laughs.
Atmosphere was not too bad. Some of the music did not suit the vibe, but it was not awful. But everyone had a good time.
I would recommend if you want a change, and have a little bit extra budget.
