With a passion for creating happy people and our love of coffee, we opened our first drive-thru espresso stand in Ashland Oregon in 1998. The demand for convenient, quality coffee & espresso grew and soon after opening our original location in Ashland, we expanded to surrounding cities in Southern Oregon. The Human Bean quickly established a reputation for having friendly and experienced baristas and offering the highest quality ingredients.

Thank you so much to the staff of The Human Bean in Florence! Our beloved aunt passed away and we came from Seattle to be with her during the last days in hospice in Eugene. In her final days she asked me to take care of her cat and we were afraid for it when we found that it has gotten out while she was in the hospital. We had a terrible time and part of what kept us going was the coffee and the kind individuals who assisted us the 3-4 times we were there over two days. We managed to catch the cat and we were able to come home with coffee grounds and some delicious and addictive chocolate covered espresso beans. No one knew the situation we were in and the kindness was much needed. I can’t thank you guys enough! I wish The Human Bean was in Seattle!

Just went through and got a 12 ounce mocha with coconut milk. Scolding, hot, scolding, hot. The drink was so full when I pull the lid off to cool it down the coffee went everywhere. Come on guys, do better.

I’m from Michigan and I wish we had human beans there. I got the green tea smoothie and the spicy breakfast sandwich. The food was hot and fresh. This was my first time trying a green tea smoothie and I think it’s my new favorite thing.

Great customer service and very friendly. I always ask them to surprise me with my energy drink flavor and I’m never disappointed. Lots of options of drinks and if there is something you want that’s not on the menu, they will do their best to make it for you. Very reasonably priced too!
