With a passion for creating happy people and our love of coffee, we opened our first drive-thru espresso stand in Ashland Oregon in 1998. The demand for convenient, quality coffee & espresso grew and soon after opening our original location in Ashland, we expanded to surrounding cities in Southern Oregon. The Human Bean quickly established a reputation for having friendly and experienced baristas and offering the highest quality ingredients.

I sailed into The Human Bean just before 7am after having spent the night not sleeping very well. (hotel not comfortable) the two workers there were absolutely amazing at getting my coffee ready even though at the time I didn’t know what I even wanted. I just knew I needed to wake up for a busy day. White chocolate mocha with two extra shots of caffeine. Well done, ladies.

I recently visited this drive-thru coffee shop, and I can’t stop raving about it! The customer service is exceptional, with a friendly staff that goes above and beyond. 9/26/25 7:45 am went to the walk up window, asked how much it was for shots answered my question with they replied, how many shots you want I explained to him you didn’t answer my question then I asked him how much was an Americano I couldn’t order my drink and I wouldn’t order my drink because I needed to know what I was gonna pay additional for the shots that I were going to buy so I left and went to Starbucks. I’ve been to Miami Chicago Detroit, all across the the United States of America in when asking, how much is it for shots every place is different so I walked away from the window and went to Starbucks. You can’t even get a simple answer when ordering shots the lady at Starbucks I asked her the same question. She said it would be 1.25 to add shots to your drink or a single shot would be 3. 25. I said thank you and ordered my drink and added my shots. Thank you Starbucks for answering my question just think America with all the colorful hair they have up in there you would think I asked him. How do they identify when ordering coffee? it got complicated

We loved this little gem right off the interstate. We visited the ‘Keepers of the Wild’ sanctuary (also recommend) and this was a much needed java oasis at the edge of the desert. Katelyn was knowledgeable, friendly, accomodating and patient with our endless questions and specialized drinks. As for the drinks themselves..happiness in a cup! They had an impressively extensive list of flavored syrups including many sugar free options(that don’t taste like garbage). As a bonus, each drink came crowned with two chocolate covered espresso beans. An unexpected, but pleasant, magical pop of flavor in our mouths.

Traveling back home to Washington State after a month long vacation in the south with my best friend. Stayed at a hotel in Kingman on our way back home & googled “drive thru coffee stands” for our morning coffee today & couldn’t wait to try The Human Bean after reading all the fabulous reviews! Glad we listened! This place has THE BEST COFFEE we’ve had on our month long trip, drinking coffee every morning from various stands! I had the Frozen Mexi Mocha & my BFF had the Snowy Mocha! Now we just want to move to Kingman, AZ to drink their coffee all day long!!! Make sure you don’t miss stopping here! And ask the beautiful blonde barista with the long eyelashes to sing for you! I told her she belongs on American Idol! Thank you very much for making our morning start out so amazing! We’ll be dreaming of your coffee for weeks! We’re stuck with Starbucks on every single block in Washington State & most Washingtonians hate Starbucks! Sure would be awesome if The Human Bean considered opening up all over Seattle! ♥️

Stopped by the new location today for the first time. I was greeted immediately with amazing attitude. Fast service as always and the girl working was genuinely positive and made my difficult drink perfectly without confusion or hesitation making my overall experience amazing. Will be making this my Route 66 stop of choice for coffee ☕️ they also have pup cups for your furry family members

Amazing, quick, very kind service to very obvious out of town’rs! Barrista noticing our pitbull, gave her a lovely pup cup with a doggie treat! If we’re ever driving across the country again we’ll be back.
