With a passion for creating happy people and our love of coffee, we opened our first drive-thru espresso stand in Ashland Oregon in 1998. The demand for convenient, quality coffee & espresso grew and soon after opening our original location in Ashland, we expanded to surrounding cities in Southern Oregon. The Human Bean quickly established a reputation for having friendly and experienced baristas and offering the highest quality ingredients.

Definitely the best when it comes to balancing sweetness for drinks. Prices are competitive with similar places like Black Rock and Starbucks. But the absolute favorite that I love there is the green tea smoothie. You can never go wrong with it. It’s perfect to help with a cool down. Not too sweet balanced out, right, Nice creamy drink.

I used to be a regular customer of the Goodyear location. I would stop by every morning on my daily drive to work and weekends. The service used to be awsome. I stopped going about 8 months ago when there was a big turn over in employee’s. The service took a down turn and I was disappointed with my usual drink being out of stock . As many coffee shop we have around town, I found another coffee shop to satisfy my needs, and who provides that friendly service and appreciate my business. For Christmas a family member gifted me a gift card. I was not ecstatic, but I said well let me give this location another try. I stopped in this past Sunday morning a little after 10am. I proceed to place my order in the drive thru. The young lady who took my order was so very unpleasant. She sounded as if she was sleeping and I was bothering her by her talking my order. I repeated my order several times. I ordered one drink no food items. I proceed to the window to pay & when the young lady opened the window she sighed and proceed with the same sleepy voice & the look on her face as if ,again I was bothering her. When she proceed to hand me my drink it was not what I had asked for. I told her she even repeated my order correctly but did not ring me up properly. Her response was she would need to charge me the higher price item since she did nott take my order correctly. I told her that was fine and she sighed again and rolled her eyes at me. At this point I asked to speak with a manager and she walked away from the window no words uttered. Another young lady walks up and proceed to tell me she could charge me for the larger cup item I had ordered and she would just poor the smaller drink into the larger cup. For a moment I had a flash back to all those videos ask for no ice in your drink & ask for a separate cup of ice. Since I could clearly see the atmosphere of this business has not changed since my last visit 8 months ago. I proceeded to ask for a refund. I will not be visiting another Human been again due to the poor quality of service. And lack of proper training.

I have previously let a 5 star review. However Ive deleted that review and am re-reviewing. The first time I visited – it was great. The second time, good. However visit 3-5, something is always unavailable or broke. Service has also been declining at the drive through and wait times have increased. The most recent was today being “we can only make energy drinks” – no coffee,no food,nothing else. Also pretty rude and you could not understand her until she repeated herself for the third time. It sounded like the microphone was in her mouth being chewed on. Time 4- they gave us the wrong size and the drinks were okay enough. Waited for them to come back to the window and notice us to get things fixed- they didn’t care and you couldn’t even hear the girl when she was talking 2 feet away.

Talk about a hidden gem! This place was amazing! Surprised more customers were not present. To be honest I don’t think many know this place is there and opened. I had the frozen hot chocolate on a 100 degree day, and it was delicious and hit the spot. Frozen hot chocolate sounds like an oxymoron. Also the chocolate covered espresso beans they give you are yummy Went back later and tried the Green Tea and Pina Colada Smoothies, and they were good as well Looking forward to returning soon.

Stopped for coffee this morning while in Phoenix, AZ. I ordered the Pumpkin Latte and was surprised how inexpensive and tasty it was. Customer service was cheerful and welcoming. Loved the Latte!

First timer; The barista made recommendations that were on point. I ordered a chai latte which was perfectly mixed and sweetened. At the window, the barista was courteous and was quick to make conversation. I’ll certainly be back.

I’ve heard a lot of hype about this coffee shop and I finally tried it. It’s REALLY good. I got a blended Java chip- it the perfect coffee flavor and not too sweet. My bff got the the lucky. The base energy flavor is lime and my bff says it taste like a margarita. Also, the chocolate coffee bean on top was so good.
