Social Profile:

With a passion for creating happy people and our love of coffee, we opened our first drive-thru espresso stand in Ashland Oregon in 1998. The demand for convenient, quality coffee & espresso grew and soon after opening our original location in Ashland, we expanded to surrounding cities in Southern Oregon. The Human Bean quickly established a reputation for having friendly and experienced baristas and offering the highest quality ingredients.

Drive-thru chain serving espresso, coffee, tea, smoothies & kid-friendly beverages.

Went in to get a bright energy and a hot chocolate for my daughter it was a SCOLDING HOT chocolate the guy didn’t say anything when he handed it to me it was double cupped it didn’t feel extremely hot when I passed it to my 4 year old she burned her mouth and was crying and I had to stop the car on the way home to calm her down. Very unprofessional and yes, I realize hot chocolates are hot but this wasn’t hot it was literally scolding and he could have let me know it was scolding hot before handing it to me . Also forgot our beans and he was pretty rude. Won’t come to this location anymore .

This place is awesome. Great service, fast and friendly. On this night especially, the ONLY batista in the place at 18:45 (645p), they close at 7, she had 2 cars on the right, 3 cars on the left, me and a gentlemen behibd me inline outside, it was freezing, Saturday night we wanted our beverage to go home or wherever and relax. And tHIs GiRl was handling business. Whoever you are, the Boss should reward you for that night (12/7/24). You had a GrEAt AtTItUDe, You were Doing ALL you Could and my drink was the best its been in my last 5 visits!!!!!!

$10 Iced coffee. As I was ordering I told her I was lactose intolerant. Tipped. At the window I asked again to make sure it was oat milk. She told me it was oat milk. It was not. Been sick in bed all day in agonizing pain. It was dairy. Almost went to the hospital for the pain. Do not go here.

The coffee is decent and espresso-drinks are about the same as what you’ll find at other nearby coffee places; however, they open at 5:30 am, so if you’re on a road trip or don’t want some gas station swill then the Human Bean is probably your safest bet. They also sell chocolate covered coffee beans, so that’s a plus in my book.

Had the best experience here a few months back, a sweet young lady named Tyler helped me and was fantastic. I went there again this morning for my usual Americano with light cream, had a different barista this time but the service and coffee were just as good. Highly recommend!

Ive been visting this place for nearly a year now and have likely spent over 200$ on their coffee alone.

They’ve gotten my drink wrong only a few times and its usually because they forgot the add shot, or added mocha
but its little enough i can overlook it

They recently promoted baked goods and while i havent tried any it seems like a good on the go snack before work

My go to coffees are Salted Caramel Granita with coconut, or a plain Caramel Hazlenut hot coffee

I thought I’d already done a review of human bean but maybe this is a different location. Never had anything bad with these guys ever. Their coffee so much better than Dutch Brothers and way way better than BlackRock. I gave him three out of five stars for the food because it’s really not a coffee shops specialty but the food they have is great just not a huge selection but I am okay with that. If you expect great food from a coffee joint you might be the person that goes to Chinese restaurant and ask for chicken McNuggets. It also helps that they are very dog friendly and Charlie gets a treat every time we go so he loves this place too 🙂

Love this coffee, but a couple things I wish I’d known ahead of time:

They have a rewards app—but I asked about it before paying and was only told after that I couldn’t get points for the order I had just placed. A heads-up would’ve been nice!

Also, they charge for water… which honestly was pretty disappointing. I can’t think of another coffee shop that does that. I’d rather see a slight price increase on the coffee itself than be charged for something as basic as water.
