With a passion for creating happy people and our love of coffee, we opened our first drive-thru espresso stand in Ashland Oregon in 1998. The demand for convenient, quality coffee & espresso grew and soon after opening our original location in Ashland, we expanded to surrounding cities in Southern Oregon. The Human Bean quickly established a reputation for having friendly and experienced baristas and offering the highest quality ingredients.

I didn’t have high hopes when I asked the barista what drip coffee they had, and was met with “what do you mean”?
I then took a look closer at the menu and realized it’s not that kind of coffee place. But the barista not even being aware of what drip coffee is means coffee quality is not the focus.
I ordered a sweet cream cold foam cold brew. It came out with no foam, and I was warned “oops, one fell in”. I had no idea what that meant until I saw a weird lump at the bottom of my coffee, which apparently was a chocolate covered espresso bean.
I don’t know, the whole thing was confusing, there’s only a drive thru and a walk up window, nobody cares about what they’re serving, and nothing seems to matter. Not my type of coffee shop.

I grew up in stark county, where the human bean was my favorite coffee shop. I’ve traveled the country and always thought of them.
I moved up this way a year and a half ago, and I couldn’t believe my eyes to see the human bean out here!
It was just as good as I remembered. Friendly staff and my coffee was amazing. I always appreciate the chocolate covered bean on my lid. I can’t wait to go back

I love this place the people are always nice and polite. My personal favorite is the bright energy’s and jalapeño biscuit. It is always good I come during all times of the day and have never had a bad experience. I recommend this place to all my friends and they say they love it as well!!!

I love this place! They have the best sugarfree options of any coffee place around. So many flavors! Sugarfree smashmelon bright energy drinks are my go to and are absolutely refreshing and taste great. Their app also allows for great rewards. I wish they had more locations in lake county! Staff is also very friendly!

It was 6:50 pm they said no we are closed by symboling neck cutting. They are only open until 7pm. Then you cut your hours even more. A full 10 minutes until close is not closed. This is unreasonable and a good way to make people find other places to go permanently. Customer service means a huge amount to me. If I don’t feel like I matter I’m not going to keep letting people treat me like I’m a bother.

I had never heard of the Human Bean before randomly stopping at this location to grab a cold brew for my trip home. What a delight. That delicious little chocolate covered espresso bean on the top of my cup surprised me and made my day. Coffee was delicious as well (Snowy Mocha). Only disappointment is that I did not make time to drive back around the drive-thru again to pick up a full bag!

I went here for the first time and I had high hopes for a new place to go to. The girl taking our order at the window was very nice but, unfortunately, I was very disappointed with the quality of the drinks and food. I ordered 2 of the sausage, egg and cheese on a “NY” bagel and they looked nothing like the menu picture. They stuck to the paper bag and ripped and were the size of Thomas Mini Bagels (shown next to in pic). The coffee was mediocre and tasted like it had none of the syrups I asked for and mostly tasted like milk. In my opinion, for the amount I paid, I expected a little better quality of food preparation and drink.
