With a passion for creating happy people and our love of coffee, we opened our first drive-thru espresso stand in Ashland Oregon in 1998. The demand for convenient, quality coffee & espresso grew and soon after opening our original location in Ashland, we expanded to surrounding cities in Southern Oregon. The Human Bean quickly established a reputation for having friendly and experienced baristas and offering the highest quality ingredients.
Drive-thru chain serving espresso, coffee, tea, smoothies & kid-friendly beverages.

Omg this was my first time ever at this place and holy moly for my 32oz 6.94 I got a cocotella iced was good I forgot to ask to make it sweet but it taste pretty good for a person who doesn’t like their coffee very sweet but I would come
Back to this spot and try other stuff on the menu I’m just so surprised on the price and quality of their drinks I just wished the app is similar to the menu as I see in the drive thru. The app is a bit difficult navigate. But I was truly happy to pull up and see the menu it was an exciting feeling and also the staff is so friendly too

Such great drinks in my opinion. The energy fizz was fantastic and the hot and frozen coffees were so good! The little espresso beans were also a nice touch. Place gets busy and it’s mainly drive thru so have some patience. I promise it’s worth the wait. Staff were kind and super friendly and patient!

Excellent service and I love the drive thru window option. They have great breakfast sandwiches: I really enjoyed both the sausage and egg maple waffle (not too sweet and balanced textures) and the egg bacon Gouda on ciabatta (light but flavorful!). My go to drink here is the mexi with a nice subtle balance that gives me the warmth of a Mexican hot chocolate with the balance of coffee. Great local option for on the way to work or before getting on the road for longer drives.

My only concern with the human bean is the food is meh. The coffee is always good and if you get something youre not a fan of, they are very kind and will accommodate. Every employee here I have encountered has been so nice. I love their cold brew with mocha, and peppermint in the winter. I drive 30 minutes out of my way just to get an energy drink thats not just redbull and some food coloring.

Updating-I’ve been here many many times now. I shared that I was unhappy with my drink when it was different than usual and they fixed it no problem. This is my preferred coffee spot now! I love the iced caramel macchiato, the frozen hot chocolate is yummy and the white chocolate mocha with extra white chocolate is great, I love that it’s not too sweet.
Original review-I like the fact that I can get decaf options here that aren’t offered at my favorite coffee spot. But the drinks are a little inconsistent. Out of 5 drinks, 2 were quite different and not as good. I love that they have a 32 oz size!

Great addition to the Pasadena area! Tons of variety to choose from- we had a peach iced tea and a hot cappuccino to drink. For food it’s similar to Starbucks, the sandwiches are premade and they warm them up for you. Nonetheless they were very good but small! We tried the sausage, egg, and cheese bagels. The service was very fast despite a busy drive thru line. I loved the walk up window!! No seating inside or outside FYI. The owner Glenn is a local guy and was out and about introducing himself to customers and handing out chocolate covered espresso beans which I thought was a really nice touch. Overall a great experience and we are looking forward to coming back to try more!

I visited The Human Bean to feature them on Real Pasadena and got a full behind the scenes look at how the business runs. Glenn and his team were incredibly welcoming and showed me everything from their morning prep to how they craft their drinks. What stood out most is that they do much more than coffee, including their own customizable energy drinks and a solid lineup of food options.
Seeing the operation up close really showed how much pride they take in serving the community. A great local spot worth supporting.

The 32 oz Iced Coffee typically is around $6.52 which for Maryland, this region and comparable coffee brands is .85+ more than competitors for similar sizes. You do get a bonus bean which adds to the caffeine and the coffee is considerably better, but this location has a ton of unique options unlike the big coffee houses which is a plus (I know this is a chain too but they’re different).

As a family we enjoy coming every Saturday. Drinks are always delicious and the spinach feta pretzel is amazing. The staff is so friendly and helpful. I love trying their recommendations.

I stopped by on a whim a month or so ago. I’m not a coffee person so I didn’t think they’d have anything for me.
I was definitely wrong and wish I didn’t wait so long. Their bright energy drinks are amazing. When they quit offering the Boba bomb I will be sad, but I’ve tried all the named bright energy drinks and have loved them all.
Every staff member has been incredibly nice and the few times I’ve seen the owner he has been so kind and generous. You can tell by the way he interacts with others that he really cares about his customers.
