CONTEXT
– Chill coffee date with the wife.

PRO
– Easy parking off-street.
– Exceptionally clean venue.
– No wait at counter.
– Helpful, friendly, and relaxed staff.
– Ample seating downstairs (window rail, tables, couches serving as half-booths), outdoor seating (with a very aesthetic, vaulted ceiling), and upstairs (more tables, couches). Seems an easy spot to chill, chat, study, etc. Not overly loud.
– Well thought-out seasonal menu (didn’t get the main menu).
– Strictly for the sake of this review and definitely for no other reason, I tried a pastry despite coming for coffee only. The handpie looked popular (low quantity) and I enjoyed it.
– Winter Solstice Latte was remarkable. Tasted a bit like blackberry pie. One of the better coffees I’ve had lately — and I’ve been to a lot of really excellent coffee shops.
– Coquito Latte w/ oat milk (wife’s choice) was also delicious.

CON
– Coconut milk would be a nice addition for the non-dairy crowd in the future.

BOTTOM LINE
– Definite repeater. We shall return.

I wish I knew about this place sooner! This coffee shop is beautifully decorated and the staff was kind and welcoming. They offer a selection of pastries along with a seasonal coffee menu. We ordered the blueberry scone and cinnamon danish and both were delicious. The cinnamon toast latte was perfectly sweet and spiced. The first floor has limited seating but they have a full room upstairs as well as 2 outdoor seating options.

Our barista was super sweet helping us pick some drinks. Customer service is over the moon as she said she would make me something different if I didn’t like my choice. She told me to be adventurous! The spalding was super tasty. Cafe is dog friendly, offers water for humans and dogs and has many places to sit back and study or read.

Another elegant coffee shop in the Clifton neighborhood, on lower Frankfort Avenue. Can’t imagine why more people don’t frequent it. The architect did a great job of repurposing and expanding Jerry’s former house/treasure yard.

I stopped by right before their move to Frankfort Avenue. Nice range of lattes and boozy options, too. Inside was clean and quiet when I stopped by. The owner was lovely, and he has some coffee art skills. I look forward to checking out their new location and trying something a little harder on a day when I can stay a while.

Lovely atmosphere and repurposed building. I only visited as I remember being here 10 years ago when it was part of Jerry Lotz’s collection, “Jerry’s Junk”. He passed away in 2019 and they auctioned off his collection, later repurposing it into this coffee shop. The image in this review of all of the antiques is what it looked like in 2013.

Barista was incredibly kind and helpful. Coffee was great and the sugar cookies were so good we had to come back the next day to stock back up 🙂 also got a great story about the history of the location.

This was originally a machine shop turned coffee shop. It had a theater room you can rent and use to have a movie night. It has local beer on tap and TVs in the place with various programs on them. Theres a garage door that is opened to make you feel like you’re enjoying the beautiful outside weather of Louisville. The owner is very warming and friendly. We tried a coffee drink that was absolutely delicious that had a shot of Bourbon. It had a chocolate/toasted marshmallow taste that mellowed the Bourbon. The white chocolate mochas were to die for. UPDATE… Stopped in a 2nd time and it was GREAT. Will be stopping in everytime were in Louisville from Now on. Thank You Pregame for the great hospitality, conversations, last but not least GREAT LATTES

The new location on Frankfort Ave is great. It is very “coffee-shop” in its vibe, but there are tv’s and games available. Seating is comfy and the tables are *stable* (IYKYK). Owner roasts his own beans and the espresso I got was fruity in the front and had a very pleasant finish. This shop is on Quills and Sunergos level of coffee quality, so yall come on out and check it out.
