Which was nice especially
After leaving LAX. The staff was very friendly and knowledgeable about the menu.
The offer a lovely variety of tea, and was in the mood for chai late with a splash of dairy free cream.
The service was excellent, warm and welcoming.
The menu looked great! Need to stop by again to try other dishes.
The tempura fish tacos had a delightful kick of spice, and the grilled cheese was elevated to cater to more sophisticated adult tastes. My husband opted for the beef sandwich, which had a wonderful balance of sweetness that beautifully complemented the beef. For the finale, we ordered the crepe layered cake which was delicious. Additionally, I mustn’t forget to mention the fantastic tea we had, which was both refreshing and delightful on the palate. I was told they use the fuze brand, and I’ll definitely be on the lookout for it at my local store.
It’s located on Pier Ave which during summer months will be really tough to find parking, but we found a spot no problem (thank you winter months).
We ordered the oysters (served with a delicious olive oil and micro cilantro which was different and very good), the fish tacos, the clam chowder, the French fries (hold the truffle) and the kale salad.
Our server was great. She was very attentive and knew the food prep well. The reason I say that is because I always ask about how salad’s are dressed because I don’t need much dressing on mine… you’d be surprised how many servers don’t get this right. She promised me it was lightly dressed and it sure was! Perfection.
We found the fish tacos a little bit dry. The fish is fried and is served on corn tortillas. I think if these tacos were to have a bit more moisture, like maybe a salsa or some pico de gallo, that would help. The French fry sauces were both very tasty; we very much enjoyed the flavors. The clam chowder also had a little different twist to it which we liked too!
This is an easy yes when looking for a nice brunch place.
The food portions are large and if you come here for brunch, you’ll be pleased! Highly recommend the Shrimp and Grits or the Chicken and Waffles. The Shrimps and Grits is definitely decadent with a lot of goodness. A bit greasy, but in a good way that pairs well with some bread. Totally forgot to take a pic though. The Chicken and Waffles are really good too. The waffles are on the denser side and a bit heavy, but works! The chicken was cooked well and had a good crunch. Just good brunch foods!
The Furikake Fries are soooo good too. An interesting combo of Japanese meets truffle oil with excellent dipping sauce. Some of the best fries that I’ve had!
If you want to drink, definitely get a bottle of champagne for $20 and your choice of juice. The mango is divine! A little goes a long way. Also, the Frose is super tasty as well. Can’t go wrong with that too!
