5++ stars for our waitress. We were a large group of 13, 4 from out of state (at least 1 who didn’t know what a Hush Puppy was) lots of joking about how to pronounce “sweet tea” and she was charming, efficient, and all-around WONDERFUL! The food was as delicious as promised, especially the fried catfish, hush puppies, and relish (pickled green tomatoes) which the waitress patiently repeated several times that she would bring enough for everyone (our talkative group couldn’t hear what was being said from one end of the table to the other).

Misty and the management staff are very friendly here. The catfish, burgers, hush puppies, and fries are pretty good. Ticket was was about 60 bucks most played average 10 – 20 dollars. I highly recommend

Went today for the first time I was so excited, get there order a 3piece with pinto beans and coleslaw and hush puppies the fish was fried to hard and tasted like in old oil, hush puppies also fried to hard , coleslaw was so dry and no taste why? Sweet tea was delicious. I really expected more I’m so disappointed Yes it was dine in!

I was really excited to try this place out, I haven’t had catfish in many years. I was disappointed to discover that nothing on my plate seemed to be cooked with any seasoning. The fish, the chicken strips. the pinto beans. All bland. I did really enjoy the hush puppies though! It was super busy but we had a very sweet server so I have no complaints with the customer service we received. Also, if you have kids…the grilled cheese was really good

Always love going to The Hook, such a great down home family atmosphere. Food was just as great as always, I have been coming for over 8 years and Brandy has always been the BEST! Catfish today was fair. Some pieces seemed to have not been fully cleaned. Small about of skin was left on fish. And it didn’t taste very fresh.
These taste of the catfish overall seems to have changed and not for the better.
The breading is very lacking in flavor.
And the side dishes have gotten to be less in serving sizes.
The hush puppies were not good either .
What Happened Here? Do we need to recast a different hook?

HORRIBLE the food was not seasoned. Please don’t pay for a premium side it will be a waste of your money they will put your food in a small container equaled to two bites. And don’t order the creole cabbage I don’t know what that was it looked like vomit. I ordered a coconut pie and I received a frozen Marie Calendar Pie slice. SMH I try to support restaurants in Jacksonville but this seems to be happening more often. That meal cost to much for some frozen store bought catfish, stale fries, dry coleslaw, old overcooked hush puppies, and a frozen store bought pie. My HARD earned money just went down the drain. This place needs to close down. Would not even give one star.

I ordered the Captains Feast cat fish. 14 piece fish with fries, hush puppies and slaw. My only issue is it’s barely enough fries for 2 people, 3 hush puppies and a serving of slaw for 1. I had to order an extra 3 piece hush puppies. I figured it would be cheaper to order the Captain Feast meal ($24) but probably next time it’ll be 2 individual meals.

We arrived for dinner on a Thursday at 7:25 and were told they are doing takeout only. Restaurant closes at 8 and you can’t serve 35 minutes before you close?

One of the best places, if not the best places in central Arkansas to eat fried catfish. And for service. Plain and simple. I love this place. Its cabots turn to get a hook.
