Quaint little place just off the square. A neat novelty that’s no cookie cutter. Enjoyed the flavors and a delicious meat and cheese platter.

I stopped at this place with my daughter. Let me say the people that work there were amazing so helpful and genuinely nice. The products they sell were delicious. I sent some items to a couple of friends while we were there. Unfortunately there were a couple of local business owners that were there saying they were going to post negative reviews for her business. Based on the conversation it sounded like they thought they were drawing business from their shops. So we stopped at the other businesses and they were right the honey lounge products and service is outstanding compared to the other shops in the area. We will definitely be back to the honey lounge. I recommend stopping in and giving them a great review they deserve it.

You’ll be buzzing when you taste their mead! Absolutely great family owned business! You can tell they pour their heart and soul into this lounge. It’s the sweetest pit stop in town! Great atmosphere, delicious fresh made sourdough and great drinks! Owners worked hard to provide a great environment and experience to the downtown winterset area!

Fun atmosphere and excellent service! The food is amazing. Sour dough bread board and the spicy honey sauce are a perfect combination. We also had the flight of meads and they were all great! The employees were able to answer all of our questions and were super friendly. Highly recommend this place and we will be back!

I had one of each of the meads. As a mead enthusiast, I could easily taste the love and compassion the owner has. Each one was perfectly tailored fitting for anyone of age. I know Winterset has been known for the winery, but I firmly believe this will be the next big thing. Aside from the taste, the staff was so great to interact with and gave the perfect amount of service. I did not try the food, but I can only imagine it was great. I truly hope everyone gives this place a try.

Great mead. I found this neat little place during RAGBRAI. They had only been open a month and not the easiest to find, but I’m glad I did. Chatted with the owner and husband and you could tell there was a lot of her soul being poured into The Honey Lounge.

I had a couple different glasses of mead and they were wonderful (vanilla was my favorite).

If I’m back in Winterset I’ll absolutely go back to The Honey Lounge.

This was a delightful experience. I haven’t had any of the food yet but we did a flight of mead and got to try a taste of one more. They were all excellent, and clearly crafted with care. I’m really glad this place is here and can’t wait to go back again!

Chill atmosphere with cheerful service and tasty drinks to include mead, craft beer, local wine and various cocktails. Sourdough bread boards, cheese and crackers, sandwich & soup of the week available. They have fun events and free game nights too.

Disappointing Experience at The Honey Lounge During Ragbrai

I tend to be an optimist so I write very few negative reviews (as everyone is entitled to a bad day at work). However, I feel strongly about the way this business handled an event meant to bring revenue in to the community.

I recently visited The Honey Lounge during Ragbrai, hoping to support local vendors. Unfortunately, my experience was quite disappointing. The Honey Lounge seemed to undercut local vendor pricing significantly, which felt unfair to those temporary businesses trying to make an honest living during the event. Moreover, I noticed they were using children to pull traffic away from other vendors, which struck me as ethically questionable.

The service inside The Honey Lounge was also lacking. The staff appeared overwhelmed and uninterested in providing good customer service. The quality of the food did not justify the price, even with the discount compared to other local vendors.

Overall, I wouldn’t recommend The Honey Lounge, especially if you’re looking to support the local community and enjoy a fair, enjoyable shopping experience. There are plenty of other local businesses that offer better service and more ethical business practices.
