Service was good. Our waitress brought water right away, though she didn’t offer other drink options and only refilled our glasses when we asked.
The DJ was amazing!
Now, the food — so good! The portions were generous, the catfish and fried chicken wings were seasoned to perfection, the pork chops were tender and juicy, and those fried potatoes were crispy and flavorful. The breakfast tacos were okay.
Overall, we really enjoyed it — great food, good service, and a clean, comfy atmosphere.
The service was excellent—attentive, friendly, and made sure everything was just right. We started off with complimentary biscuits that were soft, sweet, and fresh out of the oven—such a nice touch!
The grits came in a generous portion and were topped with a perfectly seasoned catfish that was packed with flavor. The crab gravy was refreshing and added a unique twist. The pork chops were seasoned like something out of a master chef’s kitchen—tender, juicy, and full of flavor. The fried potatoes were absolutely divine—crispy and well-seasoned.
I did ask for my cheese to be cooked into my eggs rather than placed on top, but it came out the other way. Still good, but a bit heavy on the egg whites for my liking. The drinks were cool, refreshing, and a great complement to the meal.
Overall, I really enjoyed my visit. Great service, delicious food, and a clean, comfortable setting. I’ll definitely be back!
Rating: 8/10 – Highly recommend for brunch lovers looking for good vibes and great flavors.
But The Hivewich is amazing and the fries are soooo good. Daria Amare me a Well Margarita and it was delicious I came back two days in a row considering this. Overall I’d say it’s a must if you’re in Houston! Please know they get busy though. I went as soon as they opened at 9 am to avoid crowds by 11 am there was a line. I’d also say they’re a lil pricey but worth it
The chicken was tender and delicious. The food was just all around good. The price is a little on the higher side, but you’re not coming here for the food to taste like IHOP. Spend that little extra money and get some of this good food and some nice ambiance!
The service was terrible, and it’s sad because this place has so much potential, our waitress didn’t seem interested in being a waitress. Two of the drinks came out pretty timely, a little while later my drink came and about halfway through the meal my husband’s drink came (a sprite) and even though we asked for the funnel cake fries to come out first she brought them last. It was frustrating because the restaurant wasn’t even busy.
It was pricey but what isn’t these days.
What bothers me the most about our time here is that I never got a check, I know that’s mostly my fault because I just tapped my card and moved on but now that I’m writing this review I’m thinking about that $200 total and I’m wondering how much our waitress tipped herself and did she tip herself because she knew she did a terrible job.
On the day of, things became a bit chaotic. They wouldn’t seat us until half the party arrived, so a few of us had to wait at the entrance. When they finally took us back, the table was only set up for nine people. I asked to speak with the manager, and to his credit, he did try to accommodate us by arranging seating for around ten near the bar. Our server, Anari, was wonderful—enthusiastic, friendly, and great with recommendations. The overall vibe and music were also really enjoyable.
However, I was surprised to learn that for large parties, they apparently require a deposit. This information isn’t mentioned anywhere on the website, and since no one answered the phone for days, there was truly no way for me to know. Clear communication would have made a huge difference here and would’ve prevented a lot of unnecessary stress while planning a special occasion.
Food-wise, the options were decent, though not very vegetarian or gluten-free friendly unless you customized items. The coffee was good.
Overall, while I liked the ambiance and appreciated the service, I wouldn’t recommend this spot for hosting special events or large groups. For a smaller, casual brunch, though, it’s a nice place with a fun atmosphere.
