I have been buying from HBH for about seven years or more for both Thanksgiving and Christmas. I always pre-order and pay. This time I pre-ordered and was going to pay at the location. They took down my order number, and asked for the pre-order amount. I asked if they could use two cards, they said no, I asked if they can charge two separate orders as I bought two of each, one to give to a family in need. They canceled my pre-order number and rang up each item separately charging me $150 more. I knew it was off, but for the sake of others on the day before Thanksgiving I just left knowing I’d come back another day. The Friday after Thanksgiving I went back and they said I probably received two larger hams. I was confused because why would it change from the pre-order amount. Anyway, they did nothing for me. I will not return. They are overpriced and overrated.

I was in a rush, wanted to grab a small ham for the holidays. I thought I’d be checked out quickly, as the employee who was helping me was very efficient. However, before he was able to check me out, but he suddenly disappeared before he could check me out. It was really busy at the store, around 2:30pm, so I don’t know why they would send him away. The employee’s conduct was superb. Suddenly there weren’t enough employees to efficiently run the store, and I had to wait a significant amount of time (which could have been avoidable). Their system seemed slow and inefficient, and I had to wait an additional 20m before being checked out. I don’t know why they would send employees home at such a busy time of the year.

Ordered AND PREPAID for a prime rib in November for pick up in December, 2 days before Christmas for Christmas dinner. Arrived to pick up my order at the scheduled day and time only to be told ” we ran out a few weeks ago.” Absolutely unacceptable. No one even bothered to call “a few weeks ago” to let me know they ran out so I would have time to find a prime rib somewhere else. Poor customer service, poor communication. I asked for corporate contact information because I was told “it was corporates fault” and the manage Rye responded with “I can give it to you but it will be heard by deaf ears”

If you prepay – check the price on the ham!! We went to go pick up our prepaid ham on Christmas Eve for Christmas Day. I waited in line and when I got to the front one of the workers said something like “we only have a 44 is that okay?” And the manager told him I prepaid and said she got her order, so now she needs to leave. I felt a little confused but just left. I later realized I paid $77.59 and the ham we got said $57 on it. By the time I noticed something felt off I was halfway home, so I turned around. The manager said they would refund my order through Grubhub. Since the whole situation felt off, I contacted Grubhub to confirm, only to find out that they made no attempt to refund my order, so Grubhub went through the process on their end. If you prepay, make sure you check your ham to make sure you paid the right amount. I would highly recommend just reserving and paying when you get there to avoid the headache or having this business try to rip you off on Christmas – very disappointing. Will not go back to this location.

I ordered a tavern sandwich via DoorDash today and when I got this over priced sandwich it had no meat just tomato lettuce and cheese – and with door dash you cannot get money back so I paid 25$ for bread HORRIBLE how do you make a sandwich with no meat! This was done on purpose so not sure how good this place is or the safety/quality- just don’t order here!!

We ordered some sandwiches through DoorDash and I called the store and asked if they could throw some extra hickory honey mustard packets in the bag, I was told “no problem!” Imagine my surprise when this came with our sandwich order! I’ve always loved this location, but they’ve roped me in for good now! Thank you!!!
