If you are picking up a ham today (day before Thanksgiving) make sure you have already paid. There are two different lines, and although you may have a reservation in either line, the line for prepaid is moving 10x faster than the reservation (no pay)/walk-in lines. To me if you have a reservation you should be in a different line that walk-ins but that’s my opinion. At least call into the store and equal number from each line. Have been here two hours already. Next year I will pay the premium for delivery. Crazy!!

PLEASE READ TO STAFF:
This was my first time visiting the store during Thanksgiving week and wow what a shock! The crowd in the prepaid line was completely understandable but I have to say the organization and accommodations were impressive. It’s unfortunate that a security guard is needed but that’s no fault of the store.

I’m writing this review because while waiting inside I couldn’t help but notice the staff and managers showing incredible patience and kindness even with the difficult customers. I didn’t catch any names but the lady at the center register handled people with such polite firmness and still managed to make them smile. At one point, a manager was called over and handled a situation with absolute professionalism while still standing her ground. It was honestly epic.

Huge kudos to every staff member for everything you’re putting up with this holiday season. The woman who helped me mentioned she’d been working since 5am and hadn’t eaten and it was 5:45pm. I can’t even imagine. Just know that your hard work does not go unnoticed and is truly appreciated.

I have shopped at this honey baked ham store before when it was not peak holiday. Today, 3 days before Thanksgiving, I decided to order online in advance to pick up my ham in store. First off, the website is not easy to use especially if you’re using their 2-day $7.00 discount on the bone in half ham. I labored through it and applied my $65.00 gift card also.

Next the “bone-in half HAM, is priced online with an approximate pricing range of $8-$8.99 lb. (see photo included) When you get to the store, they charged $10.79 @ lb. which is NOT approximate and way higher in cost!

Also, the manager “Gonzalo” was very sketchy with ringing up my order. First, he did not want to apply the $7 discount, and I pointed out it was ordered in advance and online which I clearly fulfilled. After multiple transactions on my CC which I provided photos of, it looks like they got it finally right but I had to create an accounting ledger to may sure they didn’t rip me off. Be careful at this store and don’t let them rush you and cheat you out of your discounts or pricing.

Last, these HB hams taste-wise are the best. Had they not pulled all these above shenanigans, they would have earned a 5-star review. I would be inclined to buy from Publix next holiday instead of here!

I want to start this off by saying this isn’t the fault of the employees, as they were overwhelmed and extremely stressed during this, but it is unacceptable that with a prepaid order with a time stamp for pick up, I had to wait two hours in the sun. The point of any pre-order that has been paid is fast pickup. The line was all the way down the street, there was no point in pre paying and there was little organization on how the delivery of the item purchased was handled. Parking was horrible, but given since it’s before Thanksgiving, but you’d think that companies who do this every single year would have a better system. People left the line, many decided to not pick up their meals. Save yourself this overpriced turkey money and buy a meal anywhere else. When I called corporate to complain they told me I should have spoken to the store manager.. Unacceptable response from them as well.

I placed a prepaid online order with Honey Baked Ham Company and selected a specific pickup time, expecting a quick in-and-out experience like in previous years. Unfortunately, this year was an absolute holiday nightmare.

When I arrived, the line wrapped around the entire block. Despite having a confirmed pickup time, I waited over three hours just to get my order. People were fainting from the Miami heat, and the staff — including the manager — were extremely unprofessional and unorganized. There was no clear system in place for prepaid orders, and customers were left confused and frustrated.

To make things even worse, when I finally reached the front of the line, my order still wasn’t ready because the hams hadn’t been glazed for pickup yet. We had to wait even longer for that to be prepared. That’s the definition of poor organization and terrible customer service.

What should have been a simple pickup turned into a stressful, exhausting, and disappointing ordeal. Honey Baked Ham seriously needs to reevaluate its holiday operations and management — this was completely unacceptable, and I won’t be returning next year.

“I am writing to share my experience at THE HONEY BAKED HAM COMPANY on 11/26/2025, at approximately 8.00AM. Located at 9385 SW 40 Street, Miami FL 33165 to pick up my order .
Unfortunately, the service I received from a lady wearing a Black clothes that said SECURITY did not meet my expectations. The specific issue was:
The associate was unable to answer basic questions about what line should a do to pick up my order that was paid on November 11 and has to be pick up today 11/26/2025 at 8.00am. When I asked for a manager, I was told none were available. There were some other customer asking for someone to give some information, they received the same answer. As a result, I left the store without purchasing anything/my issue was not resolved.
I believe the situation could have been improved if the store had organize better and follow pickup time selected by customer when order was place. I saw many people on the same situation that they paid in advance and schedule a date and time to pickup they orders. When they arrived was not a organization of what line to do. Everyone was mixed. Does not matter if you paid or not, if you select a time to pickup or just arrived there. When you order you have to select date and time that later was not taking in consideration.
I lived in the neighborhood, I love to support local business but with this experience is very hard for us to continuous supporting you. I know these days are very busy for you but you should be more organized and respect you customers.
I hope this feedback helps in improving customer service standards in the future.”

Absolutely worth it — and a little hack to skip the long lines!
The Honey Baked Ham never disappoints! I got the honey-smoked turkey breast this year and it was insanely fresh, tender, and that sugary-sweet glaze was over the moon delicious.

The only thing is the lines do get very long, especially because there are only a few locations in Miami. But the ham is definitely worth the wait.

This year I ordered through Uber Eats, and it was honestly the smartest idea. No waiting in that huge line — I just placed my order, did a quick pickup, and was out in minutes. You can also have it delivered to a business address nearby which makes it even easier.

I also called the store twice before ordering, and the staff was super nice and answered all my questions with no problem.

If you want the amazing Honey Baked Ham without the holiday chaos, I definitely recommend ordering through Uber Eats. Total game-changer! ✨

Two and a half hours more or less waiting in line and to say that I was blessed to have met such an amazing group of people that were standing with me is an understatement. ✊

The workers, security, management- I am amazed how everyone worked while still keeping their cool.

People need to have more patience and every staff needs to be commended on how they handled everything. They deserve so much, especially these holiday days.

I promised a review because they need to be recognized in every aspect. I have no words to describe how amazing they were.

It is expected to have a huge waiting time in line on holidays, even if preordered. I know some logistics may have been different this year, but all I can say is that even then, everything was perfect.

You guys are awesome! Thank you for making all of our Thanksgiving day possible!

Bought a very large, 11 pound Honey Baked Ham, for a family gathering. It was delicious! As was the Pican Pie. I was helped by the very sweet Adrianne.
She made everyone in the store smile.

Wow—I just had an incredible experience at the HoneyBaked store off of SW 40th St. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with a genuine smile by Adriane, the store manager. It was immediately clear that she truly enjoys what she does and brings a strong work ethic to her role.

Adriane also has a natural talent for connecting with customers and presenting the store’s products. At one point, she had the entire store laughing and engaging together, creating such a welcoming, feel-good atmosphere.

Please extend my thanks to her for the wonderful moment she created for my mother and me during our visit today. I would gladly travel the distance again just to say hello.
