We came here specifically for the gluten-free donuts, but they have also non-gluten-free donuts. They are very well known for being a potato donut which is supposed to be healthier. My wife tried two of the gluten-free donuts and they were definitely delicious. It is worth visiting and trying these potato donuts and realizing that you really like them and want to keep eating them!

A unique and great place to have a donut and a coffee!

The Holy Donut offers a unique perspective of potato donuts. With all the different flavor combinations these donuts can be endless.

The service was top-notch and very friendly. The barista was very accommodating to our dog and let them have a cup of water on the house.

The atmosphere was very friendly with bright colors and local art everywhere. The tables and bar set up accommodated everyone comfortably. It was in an out traffic no one stayed around as they had their delicious donut and went on their day.

As for the donut, it was very unique and fun to have. The donut was more on the chewy side with a dense texture. The flavors they have are classic like Vanilla, chocolate and maple. Then their unique flavors like maple bacon, blueberry lemon, and Bacon Cheddar. The donut was a great experience, it just didn’t have my taste palate.

Overall, an amazing local donut shop! 8/10 would recommend if in the Portland area!

We got a half dozen to try a variety. We live far away and wanted to try as many as possible. Some of them were even hot and fresh. The guy who helped us was very friendly and gave us suggestions. We were not at all disappointed. So delicious

The donuts were just okay. I had the lemon blueberry. It was a lot more tart than expected. It was crispy, which I actually enjoyed. There wasn’t a line when I went and the service was fine. I paid almost $5 for one doughnut. Am I glad I tried them? Yes.

$4.75 each for truly disappointing donuts. I can’t understand what all the hype is about. The donuts were super dense, incredibly dry, and completely lacking in flavor. I’ve had potato donuts before, and they were great, these completely miss the mark. Honestly, even at 50 cents apiece, they’d still be for the birds. Don’t waste your money, this ain’t it.

I love donuts so trying these popular donuts was a must when we were in Portland.

My husband and I shared:
– Blueberry Glazed
– Blueberry Lemon
– Holy Cannoli Key Lime
– Holy Cannoli Cherry
– Bacon Cheddar

To start, we were being indecisive and this is way too many donuts for two people. We planned on saving some for the next day, but they were so good we ate them all.

My favorite donuts are light, fluffy, and melt in your mouth. That’s not this type of donut. These potato donuts are moist though and still very good. The blueberry and canoli donuts were my favorites.

We ordered online, but it wasn’t crowded when we arrived around 8am on a weekend.

We always stop at the Holy Donut in Scarborough for gluten free donuts. I just tried the shipping to MA and was very happy. They were amazing and there were options that aren’t even in the store for gluten free. They were fresh and packaged in a freezer box and received in one day. It was better than driving a few hundred miles for a holy donut fix.

Delicious! A heavier donut, closer to a fasnacht (PA reference) with a potato base dough. Multiple flavors available.
Parking sucks though. Stick to street parking.

The employees at holy donut provide great service. Their product isn’t for me, it’s a dense, awful potato-y thing that is the antithesis of breakfast or brunch. What’s worse though, is that this company refuses to grant its employees basic quality of living rights. Their bakers wake up at 2am, but the company fights against their living wage. Given their product, which I’ve had on multiple occasions, and the way the company treats their staff- i would encourage avoiding at all costs. Portland has so many better breakfast options!

Choices were slim, but I got there late (after 11 am)
My waitperson was great, pointing out the buy 5 get 1 free deal. 6 donuts cost $25 with tax.
I’ve eaten my coconut donut, and it was yummy.
