Came back to the hometown and hoping to sample the new pop up Hoito hoping to spark some nostalgia.
It was not exactly the same as in the old days given the location and space they have to work with.
Ran out of coffee and I had to come back once it was brewed. Finnish pancakes are like crepes so don’t expect big fluffy. It is meant to be thin. Eggs and pancakes were done to order but the potatoes, bacon and sausage are in their “troughs” as they seemed a bit cold. I guess they didn’t expect it to be busy as they seemed to be behind a bit for a Saturday since the market is only open Wednesday and Saturday. At least they have a pager system so you can walk around the market while you wait for your food. Seating is limited and you have to head upstairs where there is way more seating.
Is it worth the wait? If it isn’t busy then it could be. I was expecting more nostalgic experience so my review might be jaded from the OG which is no longer around.

My husband used to live out this way and he has been raving about these pancakes! We came all the way from Alberta to try them, and I will now be raving along with him. I’m so glad they opened up in the farmer’s market! Definitely recommend to anyone in the area. Their pancakes are top tier, and they serve the best seasoned hashbrowns I have ever had at a breakfast restaurant!

The pancakes are great but I waited over half an hour for a simple order of pancakes and sausages and watched while multiple staff behind the counter snacked. There was no sense of flow and timing to get the food out. They were not understaffed, if anything overstaffed as many were just sitting.

We visited their prior location, glad to see they reopened! The dishes were all delicious, with the liver plate being a particular menu option that we decided to try and greatly enjoyed. Recommended!
