We were passing through and ordered brisket to go. The two servers we encountered were friendly and stayed busy.
The restaurant appeared clean and was nicely decorated (except the Holsteins really didn’t make a lot of sense.)
The brisket seasoning was decent, but the meat was slightly dry (we ate in their parking lot.) The fries were awful. They tasted like they were cooked in oil that wasn’t hot enough.
The mac & cheese tasted like school cafeteria (overcooked noodles and odd taste.) The hot and sweet sauces appear to be vinegar based which I’m not a fan of. The hot isn’t too bad.
This location just opened up so I’d be willing to try them again, dining it. It was a relief to see employees smoking the food right outside (as we’ve encountered several bbq places that claim to serve smoked meat but don’t actually smoke it.)

We love The Hogs Trough! Before today I’d only tried their burgers through a takeout order, not dine in. The burgers were big and delicious (big enough for two meals). Today we dined in and we tried the platter with 4 sides. The meat selection was wonderful and the bbq meat (chicken, pork, ribs, brisket) was very tender and juicy, not dried out. Hands down the best bbq in Maysville. The portions were huge, we brought home enough leftovers for another meal. The service was great and the food came out fast. I would highly recommend The Hogs Trough in Maysville!

Not completely bad. Floors kinda sticky. priced accordingly but… brisket had a ton of pepper on top and over cooked with the meat being lean and dry. Couldn’t even fix it with the 3 worst sauce selections i have ever tasted.Baked beans tasted right out the can.the garlic toast was only buttered and toasted on one side.and my server announced my bill at the table of four I was seated with then hovered while i calculated the tip. Awkward to say the least. Mac n cheese was good and the southwest egg rolls were great. Parking lot is very dark and over crowded. Not a good combo! I guess if you have never eaten BBQ outside of kentucky or out west or east or south or at home than its pretty good.

My wife and I ate here on Sunday with another couple that are friends of ours. Food was out of this world. Best mac and cheese around Maysville. The brisket was perfect! Absolutely no complaints about our food. The service was on the slow side. Our server who said she was also the manager, Paige, was not in my professional opinion in any way managerial material. We barely got anything from her but our food! Maybe some staff changes need to be made. But this place has great potential because the food was great!

We came in on Saturday night during dinner rush a group of 4 of us. We got the Hogs Trough platter to try all the meats and we were not disappointed! Paige was our server and she was excellent. She made sure we liked everything and suggested speciality desserts. We ended up trying the deep fried cheesecake and it was amazing. We will definitely be back!

Ate there yesterday with my help. Spent over $90 so we didn’t go cheap. Me and one guy got the two meat deal. We both got the ribs and brisket. The sides were great…the meat on the other hand was dry and severely lacking of flavor. The bark which usually has the most flavor was just disappointing. It’s like they are afraid to use any sort of spices for it. The sauce selection helped some but that in itself is a stretch. I had high hopes as we all love BBQ. I may give it another shot, but I will have to wait to get moisture back in my mouth from the incredibly dry meat.

Been coming here for awhile. Finally decided to leave a review. I have seen the servers stressed out with A FULL PACKED RESTAURANT. My server Paige on multiple occasions has been nothing but polite courteous and respectful. Has gone above and beyond at many times. I think with some of these reviews, people need to realize that there has to be patience with servers too. Yeah, we are not the only ones in a restaurant some of the servers handle four or five tables. Sometimes the tables can be a big party. Now, as far as the food, there has not been anything on the menu that I have not enjoyed everything has been great taste wise and presentation wise, owners are amazing as well.
