Ecclectic and fun decor. Great offering of unique cocktails. Both the Autumn in Manhattan and the Maple Pecan Old Fashioned were so delish!
Deviled Egg app and desserts were also highlights! Tuaca Cappucino Flan was a perfect blend of flan and creme brulee. The Banana pudding was spectacular.
100% recommend this Trinidad Treasure.
You won’t be disappointed!
The menu is the type that you know you will have to try at least two items if not three. That said, you also will realize that you simply must come back and try many more dishes. The house Cabernet was excellent and my Burger Salad was a great entree that I complimented with their crispy, delicious Rosemary Fries.
The mixed specialty drinks look outrageously sublime though I’ll need either a room in Trinidad for the night or a designated driver before I can truly dive in and give my thoughts and feedback.
Oh yes, I will…..
The various areas to sit, commune with others, eat, and enjoy the overall ambiance are one of The Hive’s most special talents. The backyard outside seating space looked just like the spot I’ll be next time in order to sample the dark night with their choice of subtle lighting. What a place to spend time with friends and loved ones.
Last but not least, this establishment incorporates several diverse businesses into one major Trinidad building: an eatery, a bar, a teahouse with pastries for mornings, apartments upstairs, and a community room so large that you won’t believe your eyes. Weddings, gatherings, meetings, musical concerts, and yes, even roller derby all can happen here.
The owner, Krysta was a sweetheart and checked on us a few times chatting with us, which was really nice. Our server Nelly was awesome, kind and attentive. Food was good and the drinks were great! Can’t wait to come back through on our next roadtrip and try the chicken tacos!
The charred lemon margarita was excellent and well-priced for such a deliciously layered drink, obviously not from any kind of mix! The spicy chicken eggroll was a fun take on the Chinese takeout classic, minus the greasiness. We swore it was baked. The slider sampler, also fun and interesting-arugula and bacon jam, looking at you! (side note, they were on the medium-well side, so if you like your burgers mooing, make that request) We finished off the meal by sharing the incredible cappuccino flan!! Super creamy, sweet (not cloyingly so) with surprise pungent crunches. Again, a winning Nellie recommendation!
Upscale feel and fun people. Definitely check it out…just shower 1st!
