Classic cowboy bar in Pringle, South Dakota that we stumbled upon after looking at a house in the area. The ambience is straight out of a western with lots of taxidermy on the walls and cool western and cowboy wall art. Great vibe with lots of locals having lunch.
We got a booth seat and enjoyed a couple of sandwiches (fried fish [cod] & a blt with fries and onion rings, respectively). Food was fried to perfection and we even enjoyed a delightful house made peanut butter cake with a coffee!
The service was swift and kind, and the bathroom even had cute wall art to match the dining room.
We checked out the bar and while it was small, it was cozy and they had a nice billiards table definitely somewhere we would wanna go on a Friday night to do some people watching.
Love this place and can’t wait to go back. Five stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Fun bar in the south end of the Black Hills. The bartender was super nice and she never left us waiting. Food was delicious and the beer was too! The last time I was here was 3 yrs ago yesterday, when I crashed my bike on the Michelson trail and came here for help because at that time Verizon had no service here, and I needed 911 services. Much more enjoyable visit this time !

What a great local place. Don’t let the town or the outside scare you, because it is the perfect local joint with amazing food!
We had prime rib which was amazing. The kids said can we stay one more night here just for prime rib. Great salad bar too
Highly recommend if you are in the area and want something not touristy.

Would we return? Maybe
We stopped in as part of the SDBDRx for a meal.
We were promptly greeted and seated, so service and attention was very good!
We were disappointed in the flavor and or strength of the Iced Tea.
We had the the brisket sandwich, and it looked quite good, but we did not enjoy the rub/flavor of the meat nor the fatty nature of it for being a pork brisket sandwich.
The fries were quite good.

Late afternoon started out with a drive along Argyle road with my wife & myself, then made the turn on the Hwy to Pringle SD.
When we arrived in Pringle was happy to see the hitchrail bar and restaurant was open as our hunger was kicking in.
What a nice place to step in and a warm smile to greet us, when the food came we noticed the quality was far better than other places since covit cut backs, the chicken fried steak was so tender the fork was all you needed to cut and eat with. Oh my the ribs where a treat since my last ribs some where else was dead on arrival, the ribs here was soft and tender and I made a mess with the BBQ sauce all over my hands.
Now the best part is the dessert and our wait staff Cypress V. New that the chocolate cake was the magic touch for the night, Wow thank you Cypress for being so attentive while the place was so busy.

Best food I’ve had since Covid cutbacks and poor quality food supplies around this end of the state. Fresh hand breaded chicken fried steak with pepper gravy, a fluffy baked potato and salad bar. Dessert was a wonderful chocolate fudge cake. Service was very friendly and happily accommodated my service dog. Food arrived quickly. Prices very reasonable for the amount of food. We will be back!

We went last night for the Friday Fish Fry. It was delicious. We all had the catfish and it included soup or salad. Service was great too.

I really wish I could award more stars, because this place truly deserves 5 stars. After spending all day in Wind Cave NP, we stopped on a whim. We were greeted by the most friendly server I have ever encountered. She gave my children coloring books, served us in a timely manner, asked us questions, gave travel tips (all of them we took), and made sure to help us get in/out quickly before our kids melted down. The cod sandwich was impossibly crispy, and the homemade tartar sauce was thick and tangy. It was served with the best type of fresh-made French fries. My daughter ate everything she ordered, as well. This place is the all the best parts of a small town- simple food made fresh and perfectly made, friendly staff, and a good menu that serves all the essentials.
