Came up from North Texas to visit some family. I decided to go have some drinks. Found this awesome little bar and I was glad I did because the bartender definitely knew his way behind a bar and made me the best whiskey sour I’ve ever had and for such a small town there were some cool locals to talk to. Definitely a must stop in if you want to have some good conversation.

Huge whiskey selection. Creative and well-crafted cocktails. I had a trio tasting flight, 1 was good but not to my taste, the other 2 I’d order again. I plan on coming back to check out a live performance soon.

The Hitching Post of Humbolt KS is part of a greater vision to revitalize a downtown center that is centrally located to other communities. You visit Humbolt’s downtown area for quality eats and drinks. The Hitching Post caters to a sophisticated palate and those neophytes seeking the best examples of an adult beverage. Kudos to Paul for serving me an interpretation of a beverage I’d never encountered before. I’ve tasted Old Fashion Bourbon drinks all over the world, and found the Hitching Post to deliver the most eye catching and unique. Aside from the offerings, the staff is the real jewel. They were courteous, knowledgeable, and readily shared the history/origin behind the beverages. Humboldt is worth the side-trip or as in my trip the destination. A full day of driving was rewarded with a first class experience.

I absolutely loved this place!! Drinks were amazing. The atmosphere was just awesome, the decor was so charming with perfect details. Everything was SO well done. Could not have been more impressed. And the little things like hooks under the bar for purses and ports for chargers at the booths is so simple but I appreciate very much. Wish we had this place at home!
