Seasonal operation open April through November 30. Western saloon and cafe in a historic building in Ingomar, Montana. Serving famous cowboy beans from an original recipe, unique Sheepherders hors d’ oeuvres, locally raised beef burgers and steaks. Full bar and a selection of beers. We wanted to give the new owner a chance as we love the Jersey Lilly but Suzanne has disappointed us and we won’t be back until there is a different owner. We were there for Antelope opening weekend and the gal she had working was a rockstar and ran her but off while Suzanne worked the grill. I understand she has a hard time getting around but it was sad to see the state of the place. The food was ok but the sheepherder hors d’oeuvres were way smaller than normal and we waited at least 30 minutes for them. The other tables had to get up and get their own condiments and the dirty tables were never cleaned up so when new customers came in they were barely greeted and then ended up leaving without being served and it was only 7pm. Her Facebook posts said she would be open until 9. She also stated she would be open the next morning for breakfast but she did not open at all the rest of the weekend which is usually very busy with Antelope opening weekend. I saw a gentleman make a reservation for Saturday night and requested several steaks and she said they would be available but the next morning her Facebook post said she was out of food. How can you be out of food if you didn’t even open. I figured out that her only wait staff quit and she couldn’t do it by herself but lied in her posts as to why. She continues to bad mouth Boots and June on her Facebook page and to customers. She was also very unprofessional and rude to customers during a large reunion that was held in Ingomar. I’m not sure if this is how establishments are run outside of Montana but it’s certainly not how good people do it here. Don’t waste your time and go down the road for better service and respect.

This is a piece of history, no other way to say it. It is a must do if you’re in SE Montana. We are sk fortunate to have it reopened, definitely worth the drive to the middle of nowhere to get a look at what life once was in the West.

If it were not for a friend who was playing at the music festival inviting me, I wouldn’t have ever known about this outstanding piece of living Western culture. Outstanding food, service with a full bar. We went to the music festival and dance (held every last Sunday of April 12p-6p) and had a blast. If you are on I-94 and are coming up to Forsyth, do yourself a favor, go off the beaten path about 24 miles and check this place out and its historical little town. Support local businesses it really does matter. Respect the Locals and their culture and the place they call home.

Happened by Ingomar by way of a friend’s suggestion and was pleasantly surprised by the experience. If you’re a history buff, stop in to The Historic Jersey Lilly. The first surprise was that it was even open and now has set days and hours. The new owner is delightful, quirky and full of very interesting information. Don’t let the almost-ghost-town appearance of Ingomar, the building’s facade or the outhouses scare you away. We had our camper and stayed a night at their rustic little RV park at the end of the building. They offered electricity, water and sewer. It’s a short walk and you might enjoy the window panoramas on the way to lunch or dinner or even just a quick drink. We enjoyed a good burger and the full service bar during our visit. The kitchen is currently a delapadated work in progress while the new owner is hard at work bringing it up to commercial kitchen standards but the food is still tasty and reasonably priced. The restaurant offers an eclectic mix of photographic and artistic history, a beautiful bar, and somebody through the years loved John Wayne. The wooden, lighted phone booth proved an unexpected delight. Is this a fancy restaurant with an expansive menu? Not really. The bean soup held no particular allure for me on a 97° day but I understood the signature menu item better after chatting with Suzanne, the new owner. She and her friendly team from the community are eager and excited to make this a memorable stop that’s worth it when traveling between Roundup and Forsyth, Montana. This little town on the prairie tells a particular story of resilience in Montana. Keep The Historic Jersey Lilly in mind and look for the lovely new sign on Highway 12.

The last time I was at the ole Jersey Lilly was when beer was $1 a beer, and cigarettes were $1 a pack. 1979 to 1980 maybe 81 , I absolutely miss this place, a good ole boy Bill owned it at the time, loved going into Ingomar every day and eat bean soup, so much history in that place, I’ve got to make a trip some day.

Very original old western feel. Complete with good mood food, banquet hall, RV parking, and very friendly owners who go above and beyond! We vacationed here for the Ingomar rodeo, and it was very pleasant. Definitely will return!

What a cool little place! The cracker hors d’oeuvre was an interesting, however unlikely, morsel. The steak was probably still a cow before I ordered it, and the bean soup warmed up my soul.
Great food and great service, Boots and June run a good outfit. If you’re hungry for some good food, you won’t be disappointed!
Almost forgot- fully functional out house! Don’t get much more frontier than that!

I’ve visited Ingomar, Montana twice! Definitely one of those places that feels almost otherworldly! The drive there is an adventure in itself – miles and miles of open road with nothing but endless skies. It’s so remote, so quiet, almost forgotten, yet you can feel the weight of history in the air.
When I arrived, the town was still. No one around except a lone bartender, a cowboy sitting at the bar and enjoying his drink. The buildings, leaning with age, had this charm that made time feel like it had slowed down.
The decor was aged, creepy, even. The abandoned buildings around me seemed to whisper stories of the past. A sign warning against dancing on tabletops with spurs made me laugh . There’s something about it all, out of place but in the best way. It feels so genuine, so alive with echoes of those who’ve passed through.
Don’t forget to visit the gift shop! I bought a tea towel from the shop located next door. Nothing fancy, but it’s become one of those little treasures I use every day. A reminder of a place so different from my usual city life.
I didn’t get to eat there. Next time I will!
