I had brunch at The Highwood, and overall would say that it was a good/average meal. What was great was the beautiful view of the Port Imperial Waterway Ferry, the water and the NYC skyline.

Had an amazing dinner recently at The Highwood! My favorite app that I had was the guacamole and pork belly, which was an absolute hit (ate it so fast I didn’t get a picture!). I got the fettuccine bolognese, which was a hit for me as well. It’s a super eclectic menu, from sushi to pizza, so you really can get a little bit of whatever you want there. This is a great place to come after work to relax, though I’ve also heard that brunch is great here too. The atmosphere is nice, not too loud but not too quiet, which is great. We got the deep fried oreos with a side of vanilla ice cream for dessert and we wolfed those down too! IOh – and don’t sleep on the cocktails. Artfully presented, and absolutely delicious!

I really wanted to like this place. Went there for a birthday dinner and called ahead to make a reservation. The person taking our reservation should’ve given a heads up that kitchen closes 15 minutes into our reservation (although the place is open until late); we’d have made adjustments to our time or opted for another day. But anywho, after arriving we were rushed into placing the order (which is understandable since the kitchen stops taking orders) and all of our food was brought out at once including the dessert. Seeing all that food killed our appetite and the vibe. May be will try giving it another go some other day and hope for a better experience.

The atmosphere of this place is pretty good if you want something casual while watching sports. The service was overall good and everyone was very nice and attentive. I would receive this place to go get drinks. As for the food, it was average. I personally would not get an Entrée here again. I got the penne à la vodka with shrimp and the flavor was not all there, it was a bit bland. The calamari was also average, a bit chewier than I would like.

My husband and I had dinner in The Highwood. We liked the service and atmosphere of the place. Foodwise, the appetizers were delicious. We choose Harumaki (Japanese Spring roll): Four pieces of veggie spring roll with chili sauce. And also an order of pork Gyoza crispy pan-fried dumplings with sesame seeds, lime soy sauce, and gochujang aioli. From The Mains, my husband ordered a medium Highwood burger. But the burger was cooked medium well. I love Arroz Chaufa. So I ordered that, but it was just ok. I can’t complain about the drinks, except they are pricey. It was a good experience, but the additional credit card fee and overall cost of the experience was a turn – off.

Highly recommend dinner at The Highwood to anyone looking for a fantastic meal in the Weehawken area. Portion sizes are *more* than generous, to the point I actually had to stop on my starter around halfway through so I’d actually be able to enjoy my main haha. Prices are very reasonable, the cocktails are delicious, the atmosphere buzzing, the staff friendly and courteous and the food is absolutely divine.

Whew boy. Went last night for dinner, and it’s traditional American/bar kind of food which is fine and what we expected. The decor was cool and all, however that’s about it. The drinks are overpriced with very little alcohol in them, and if I’m paying $21 for it it better at least be interesting. I’ve made better watermelon margs at home! We ordered the giant pretzel to start which was actually good, but unfortunately it came out with the rest of our food, and we were hungry so at this point the vibes are already off. My sister and BIL ordered the Cobb salad which was basically full of toppings and very little lettuce (my sister said something about it being Keto). And when ordering they added protein to the “salad”, but the chicken came out sliced on a little plate on the side! I guess there was no more room in the bowl with all the toppings? I ordered the chicken sandwich which was advertised as “southern friend chicken” but in reality was a chicken cutlet! Over-fried chicken cutlet at that! Check the pic, why is the bun bigger than the chicken?!? I had wanted to go to this place in the past, and now that I’ve gone I don’t need to go back.

I got the burrata, oysters & lemon drop. The calamari was my favorite, but for the quality might have been overpriced. Other than that it was a nice experience!
