The Hideaway Bar & Grill

Who was cooking on the night of Sunday 2/22/26, cause that was some of the best damn food I have ever had!! They have a special Fat Tuesday menu, which in and of itself is cool as heck, we had shrimp and grits, the jambalaya, chicken tortilla soup, and the clam chowder soup. ALL was top notch!!! We will be back, thanks so much for the absolutely perfectly prepared food!!!

Solo GONYO

Used to love this place.. Haven’t been in for a couple of years and stopped in to get a cocktail and service was horrendous. First the older female bartender who’s extremely stuck up on herself who had long blonde chemically fried hair. Walked back-and-forth and ignored us never once greeting us or asking us if we were gonna have cocktails.. When someone walks past you and is not busy and you need to play them down should have been the first sign. Finally we got our one cocktail never acknowledged us again. I then had to ask a different bartender for an order of cheese sticks. She was very nice.but told us we couldn’t get cheese sticks because there were out. We then left and went to foolerys bar on the other side of the lake. They had cheese sticks and we were treated awesome and had instant cocktails. So sad to see that the hideaway has gone downhill.

Fantastic little dive bar. Great specials, cheap food and a fun group. Plenty of seating and all bartenders and servers have been great so far. A new favorite.

We come here every once in a while. We have always had great food! The last time we were here it was an unexpected nice day- so there was a lot of people on the patio. For just one waitress she did amazing- we had to wait a little but we were surprised how quick she was to wait on all the tables!! It has a small town local vibe which we enjoy!

Got there at 6pm. Lexi, our server, was friendly and accommodating. Ordered drinks and appetizers, came out quickly and put in our meals. Wasn’t until 7:50pm the food came out and was warm at best. Scott, Manager, was very short and rude when asked about adjustment on bill due to extreme delay in food and no updates throughout. He stated they are short handed and very busy as he was walking away. You’re running a business, account for warm nights off season or advise your customers when they arrive it’s busy and they are short staffed so it will be an additional service time. We would have appreciated that more and went somewhere else but now, due to experience tonight, will not go back at all.

Food was great. Service was different. Our server’s shift was over before we were done eating and she left. We sat for quite a while waiting for our check. We finally asked and another server fell all over herself apologizing. It was kind of amusing. We’ll go back.

The pickle boats are my FAVORITE! We also tried the bang bang shrimp, which was yummy. Our waitress followed up with us frequently, and Mike, the bartender, was amazing.

My family and I came in for breakfast around 11:30 were not served until 11:50 where they informed us that their kitchen just closed for breakfast even though we’d already been there for 20 minutes waiting for service and that it was advertised until 12pm. Proceeded to order lunch and ended up getting our food to go after waiting 1 hour and 20 minutes with little to no communication from our server about how much longer the food would take. Personally work in the service industry myself and can 100% say this was unacceptable and to top it off were not compensated in any way. Fun place to be at for drinks and hanging out but definitely do not recommend going for food service. And this is how some of our food came.

Forrest Nation

On a beautiful holiday weekend, after a motorcycle ride on some fantastic rustic roads, we end up at the Hideaway for dinner. We sat down and waited more than 30 minutes to be acknowledged. It continued to get worse from there – portions of our food order came out wrong and drinks came out extra late, if at all. To top it off, everyone that had any authority was “away for the holiday” so we couldn’t even talk to anyone.
Note: I gave ⭐️⭐️ because with everything going on, our server still took care of us!
She was awesome and we compensated her nicely
